Abstract: The invention provides a high-water pressure trapdoor model test device and a use method thereof. The high-water pressure trapdoor model test device includes a PIV analysis unit, a liquid material, a solid material, pore water pressure gauges, first soil pressure sensors, second soil pressure sensors, third soil pressure sensors, a test box and a pressurizing unit. A box body of the test box is provided with an opening sealed by a base plate, a hole is formed in the base plate, a trapdoor is arranged at the hole, the third soil pressure sensors are arranged in the trapdoor, the first soil pressure sensors are arranged in the base plate, the solid material is placed on the base plate, the second soil pressure sensors and the pore water pressure gauges are arranged in the solid material, and the liquid material is placed on the solid material.

Abstract: An apparatus for testing paving samples includes a base that includes a paving sample tray about the cabinet and configured for translation relative to the cabinet. A roller is configured for imparting compressive forces to a sample carried by the sample tray. An arm is configured for moving the roller from a stowed position to an in-use position where the roller contacts the sample. A cylinder assembly having a piston therein supplies pressure forces to the arm to move the arm from the stowed position to the in-use position, wherein a depth of travel of the arm is limited by the sample. As the sample is compressed, the depth of travel increases. A measurement device is in communication with the cylinder for determining an amount of travel of the arm to thus determine an amount of compression of the sample.

Abstract: A hypergravity model test device for simulating a progressive failure of a shield tunnel face, including a model box, a shield tunnel model, a servo loading control system and a data acquisition system. The data acquisition system includes a displacement transducer, an axial force meter, a pore pressure transducer, an earth pressure transducer and an industrial camera. The servo loading control system is connected to an excavation plate through the loading rod to control the excavation plate to move back and forth along an axial direction of the shield tunnel model at a set speed to simulate failure of the shield tunnel face. A method for simulating a progressive failure of a shield tunnel face is also provided.

Abstract: A hand-held lift loop assembly tester apparatus and method tests peel strength of a heat seal connection between a lift loop patch and a bulk bag body as an indicator of shear strength of the connection and whether the bag will pass industry safety lifting requirements. A lifting platform of the hand loop tester is inserted between the patch and the bag body in an unsealed area and measures the amount of peel and thus the peel strength of the heat seal bond or connection at the edges or sides of the unsealed area. If the peel strength is adequate, this is a reliable indicator that the shear strength of the bond or connection is also adequate and that the bag will meet the current industry required 5 to 1 safety lifting requirements.

Abstract: Provided is a pressure testing method for a high-pressure tank capable of avoiding a destruction of the high-pressure tank during a pressure test. A pressure testing method includes: extracting a plurality of AE waveforms from output waveforms of an AE sensor while increasing a pressure inside the high-pressure tank; and testing the high-pressure tank based on the extracted plurality of AE waveforms. The method includes: while increasing the pressure inside the high-pressure tank, classifying the extracted AE waveforms into first waveforms and second waveforms with a classifier that is machine-learned so as to classify the plurality of AE waveforms into the first waveforms derived from a macrocrack that increases immediately before destruction of the high-pressure tank, and the second waveforms derived from a microcrack smaller than the macrocrack; and stopping pressurization of the high-pressure tank based on the number of the first waveforms.
