    摘要: The operation of automated tape heads used to layup a composite structure is optimized in order to reduce layup time and better balance tape head loading. Ply data is generated that defines the ply segments and tape courses for each sequence of the layup. Each sequence is partitioned into groups of either ply segments or tape courses for the sequence. Multiple possible tape head assignments are generated in which the individual tape heads are assigned to the groups A final set of tape head assignments are selected based on the assignments that minimize the time required to complete the layup.

A manufacturing study support device has a computation portion, a display portion which displays animations, and a storage portion which stores part animation data comprising three-dimensional shapes of parts, part storage positions which are three-dimensional coordinate data of positions at which the parts are stored, and assembly starting positions which are three-dimensional coordinate data of positions from which assembly tasks using the parts are started. The computation portion calculates part supply animation paths, taking the part storage positions as starting points and the assembly starting positions as ending points, and based on the part animation data and part supply animation paths, causes the display portion to display movement of the parts.

The optimized technologies or processes may be transmitted for selection and use in producing manufactured parts.

    摘要: The present invention provides a process and means for identifying opportunities for improvement in assembly line production that overcomes the problem of overlooking opportunities for improvement. Six sigma techniques are used to identify these opportunities. The process includes collecting time data accurately representing operations in an assembly line; conducting a capability analysis of the data collected to identify opportunities for improving operations; identifying changes in operations based on this analysis; and implementing such changes into operations to produce improved assembly line performance. Capability analysis of the data using statistical techniques is a more rigorous and thorough approach than traditional assembly line optimization techniques. The present invention targets opportunities for improvement that would otherwise be overlooked.
