摘要: A ventilation apparatus includes a processor; a compressor; a first heat exchanger; a first air flow path configured to supply air from outdoors to an indoor space after passing through the first heat exchanger; a second heat exchanger; a second air flow path configured to exhaust air from the indoor space to the outdoors after passing through the second heat exchanger; and a refrigerant circuit through which a refrigerant flows, the refrigerant circuit being connected to the compressor, and the first and second heat exchangers. The processor detects whether a predetermined reference indicating a possibility of frosting in the second heat exchanger is satisfied while the second heat exchanger is functioning as an evaporator, and controls a temperature of the refrigerant flowing through the second heat exchanger such that the second heat exchanger will have a temperature at which frosting does not occur, when the predetermined reference is satisfied.

摘要: A method for fan speed control for a condenser fan in an air conditioning system includes determining a refrigerant condition at an inlet of a compressor by a condenser fan speed control module; determining a refrigerant condition at an outlet of the compressor by the condenser fan speed control module; determining a parabolic curve of a relationship between an air conditioning system performance metric and a speed of the condenser fan based on the determined inlet condition and the determined outlet condition by the condenser fan speed control module; identifying an optimum condenser fan speed based on a vertex of the parabolic curve by the condenser fan speed control module; and controlling the speed of the condenser fan to meet the optimum fan speed by the condenser fan speed control module.

摘要: An air conditioner and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The air conditioner is able to operate in an efficient cooling cycle while simultaneously guaranteeing superior cooling performance in a low-temperature operation region. In the air conditioner, an airflow directing apparatus, which is installed in an outdoor unit, suppresses not only natural convection of the air, but also heat exchange between the condenser and outdoor air by the blowing fan, such that the air conditioner forms a normal cooling cycle by guaranteeing condenser pressure. The air conditioner guarantees cooling performance of a low-temperature operation region by adjusting the amount of outdoor air flowing through blade control of the airflow directing apparatus, and operates in an efficient cooling cycle, resulting in acquisition of compressor reliability.

摘要: Systems and methods for low ambient air temperature cooling in air-source based heat pump systems wherein an outdoor heat pump unit includes a discharge hood positionable over its fan. The hood including a damper that is openable and closeable as a function of outside temperature. The outdoor unit may also include wind deflectors positioned over the coil openings of the disclosure. During cooling operations below a low outside air threshold temperature, e.g., below 23° F., the damper assembly partially closes to reduce airflow across the condenser coil of the outdoor unit to a level below that which is possible at minimum fan speed. As the outdoor temperature continues to drop, the damper assembly continues to close to further reduce airflow.

An induction ventilating and heating or cooling unit comprises a housing 10 1 containing cooling and heating heat exchangers 54, 55 respectively and two pivoted or sliding valves 52, 53 controlling the secondary air flow therethrough, wherein when one valve is in an open position, the other is held in a closed position. In another embodiment, the valve 52 is replaced by two or more pivoted flaps and the air inlets to the heat exchangers and to a by-pass are covered by filters. The valves 52, 53 are controlled hydraulically, by an electromotor or, as shown, by a pneumatic cylinder and piston device 66 in response to a room thermostat. The flap valves 52, 53 shown are rotated by arms 58, 59 which are connected respectively to the cylinder and piston of the device 66. In the position shown in Fig. 8, the weight of the cylinder holds the flap 52 closed, while the flap 53 is spring urged to an open position. As air is fed into the cylinder, the flap 53 closes and thereafter, the cylinder rises relative to the then static piston to open the flap 52. The flaps 52, 53 alternatively may be spring biased to a closed position. The device 66 is situated outside the casing 10 1 .

[Also in Divisions F2 and F4] A room ventilating unit comprises a casing 3 with a plenum chamber 17 supplied with primary air from a central source, nozzles 19 discharging the primary air into a passage 21 to induce a flow of secondary air from the room through an inlet 5 to an outlet 9; and a secondary air heat exchanger 25 and bypass 29 controlled by a pivoted damper plate 41 biased to a position closing the bypass by a leaf spring 47 and movable to an open position by an inflatable plastics bladder 36. The bladder 36 is fed with primary control air regulated by a bleed type thermostat responsive to secondary air temperature. The primary air flow to nozzles 19 is controlled by a damper 39. The unit may be placed vertically or horizontally.
