    摘要: A portable computer-peripheral apparatus comprises a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connector. The apparatus is operable to communicate with a computer terminal (e.g. a ‘PC’). Following connection to the PC, the apparatus initialises (i.e. presents or enumerates itself) as a HID keyboard and then sends to the terminal a first predefined sequence of keycodes automatically without manual interaction; the keycodes complying with the human interface device (HID) keyboard standard protocol. Each keycode represents and simulates a keystroke, such as those performed when a user strikes a key on the PC keyboard. The keycode sequence automates the direct access to content, and/or the initiation of a task or other process.

    摘要: Devices, systems, and methods are described for allowing rules that are applied to one device to be applied to another device based on a user's interaction with only the devices. A rule-copy action, such as simultaneous shaking of the two devices, proximity of the two devices to each other, and/or the relative positions of the two devices, may be detected at one of the devices (e.g., a first device to which the user desires the rules or a copy of the rules to apply). In response to the rule-copy action, another device (e.g., a second device configured to operate according to the at least one rule) may be identified. The at least one rule may then be caused to be applied to the first device in response to detection of the rule-copy action, so as to configure the first device to operate according to the at least one rule.

    摘要: A method and system for converting the output of a communications port (e.g., a serial port or a USB port) into video signals representing the output of a terminal using a KVM switch. Upon receiving characters from the communications port, the system interprets the characters as terminal emulation commands and internally generates a representation of what a resulting terminal screen would look like. From that internal (digital) representation, the system produces analog outputs representing the terminal screen. The analog outputs are output on the monitor attached to the KVM switch.

The at least one remote terminal includes executes the received control command, and transmits a result of executing the received control command to the operating terminal.     摘要: Creating and associating a virtual pseudo tty device with a running process. A pool of virtual pseudo tty devices composed of a number of special character-oriented device files is created and associated with a sub-directory in the device file system. In response to receiving a process id (PID) of a running process, an unassociated virtual pseudo tty device in the pool of virtual pseudo tty devices is assigned to the running process. The association of the running process and the virtual pseudo tty device is accomplished by locating and modifying the running process's controlling tty in the running process's u-block to point to the assigned unassociated virtual pseudo tty device. Following which, the running process id and the associated virtual pseudo tty device are saved in a virtual pseudo tty mapping table thus allowing the running process to be disassociated from a physical console or pseudo tty device.
