摘要: Techniques for providing internet services to a user through a toll free connection are provided. The techniques include receiving, from an Internet Access Point (IAP), a request for the internet services through the toll free connection provided by a Cloud Service Provider (CSP), wherein the CSP is selected by the user from a plurality of CSPs. Access credentials are received from IAP and are forwarded to the selected CSP. A token is received from the CSP if the user is authenticated by the CSP based on the access credentials. The token is sent to the IAP wherein the token is used by the user to access the Internet services through the toll free connection.

摘要: A method and system and for allocating value such as prepaid airtime to a customer account with a service provider is provided. The method includes receiving from a point of sale a request to allocate a specific amount of airtime to the customer account, receiving a retailer identifier which identifies a retailer to which the point of sale belongs, requesting the service provider to allocate the airtime to the customer account, sending the retailer identifier to the service provider so that the service provider can bill the retailer for the allocation of airtime, obtaining a confirmation from the service provider as to whether the allocation of airtime to the customer account was successful or not and, in response to a positive confirmation that the allocation of airtime was successful, communicating the positive confirmation to the point of sale so that the allocation of airtime is charged to a customer at the point of sale and, in response to a negative confirmation that the allocation of value was not successful, communicating the negative confirmation to the point of sale so the allocation of airtime is not charged to the customer at the point of sale. The point of sale can be configured to offer the customer a choice as to whether the customer would like change for a purchase in cash or in the form of airtime, and if the customer elects to receive change in the form of airtime, the airtime to be allocated to the customer account is selected to be greater than the value of the change in cash, thereby providing the customer with a monetary incentive to choose to receive the change in the form of airtime.

摘要: A multi-function transaction processing system including a transaction terminal having a data entry facility and a transaction processor, the transaction processor being communicatively associated with a control processor that defines user accounts and issues one or more authorization codes associated with the user account(s) in response to payment authorities provided at the transaction terminal utilizing a payment authority input of the data entry facility. Furthermore, a printer assembly is communicatively associated with the transaction terminal and generates a card assembly, the card assembly including a first portion containing the authorization code thereon, and a second portion including additional promotional materials thereon. The user account as defined by the control assembly, includes a defined value, the authorization code provided being utilized to facilitate a transaction in accordance with that defined value.

摘要: A hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request is used to actuate a secondary communications protocol (e.g., Short Message Service). A server receiving the request may be configured to take actions not specified by the URL associated with the request in response to the characters encoded in the request, such as accessing a secondary communications protocol. The server parses the request to identify action codes and/or content in the request itself, and takes action based on the code or content value. A token code representing a value or fixed number of uses may be utilized in connection with the techniques disclosed herein.

摘要: In certain embodiments, a system for automated distribution and indexing of prepaid calling card information comprises a central terminal operable to receive a request to purchase prepaid telephone services from an initiating terminal. The request comprises an identifier of a financial account to be used to purchase the prepaid telephone services. The central terminal is operable to electronically seek authorization for the request, initiate electronic debiting of the financial account using the identifier, and log a transaction indicating a purchase of prepaid telephone services in response to receipt of the authorization. The central terminal is operable to initiate electronic transmission, according to purchaser contact information, of calling card information from the central terminal to at least one electronic storage medium for access by a purchaser. The calling card information provides access to the prepaid telephone services instead of using a telephone card or printed receipt to obtain the prepaid telephone services.
