    摘要: A key structure, including a base plate, a thin film circuit, a dome switch, a scissor structure, an elastic piece, and a keycap, is provided. The thin film circuit is disposed on the base plate. The dome switch is disposed on the thin film circuit. The scissor structure is disposed on the base plate, wherein the scissor structure includes a first support and a second support pivotally connected to the first support, and the second support surrounds the first support. The first support has a trigger part, and the second support has a chamber disposed corresponding to the trigger part. The elastic piece is engaged inside the chamber, wherein the elastic piece has an interfering part located outside the chamber, and the interfering part is located on a moving path of the trigger part. The keycap is disposed on the scissor structure and the dome switch.

    摘要: A method of forming a switching device having a movable contact that is an integral part of a metallic support substrate and is supported above the support substrate by a plurality of spring-like legs that are also an integral part of the support substrate. One or more of the switching devices is produced by forming one or more groups of curved, unconnected radially extending slots in a metallic substrate to define support legs, plastically deforming the legs defined by the slots past their elastic limit, and then precipitation hardening the complete structure. The slots can be formed by a photomasking technique followed by an acid etch with the etch being performed from both sides of the metallic support substrate. To provide a desired tactile response characteristic, and to assure movement of a central portion of the switching device past the plane of the metallic support substrate, a portion of each of the legs defined by the slots may be removed to thin that portion of each leg. The plastic deformation may be performed in a male-female die mechanism.

    摘要: A printed circuit board with thin film switches for a keyboard including an upper board having multiple circuit lines, an insulating separation defining multiple through holes, a lower board having multiple circuit lines and multiple thin film switches mounted on the upper and lower boards. The thin film switch has two thin film conductive elements respectively formed on the upper and lower boards and correspond to one of the through holes in the insulating separation. Each thin film conductive element has a center conductor, at least two outer conductors formed adjacent to the center conductor, and at least two conductive lines connected to the center and outer conductors. With such an arrangement, the areas of the center and outer conductors will be reduced, surfaces of the conductors are even in the curing procedure of fabricating upper or lower board to keep a stable touching sensitivity.

    摘要: A membrane keyboard is comprised of first and second dielectric layers having circuit patterns including a plurality of first and second electrical contact pads disposed on opposing surfaces thereof. The layers are maintained together such that corresponding first and second electrical contact pads overlie one another forming switch sites. A spacer is disposed in a discontinuous pattern around the first contact pads, the spacer normally maintaining corresponding first and second contact pads spaced from each other, while permitting electrical engagement therebetween upon application of an actuation force to one of the layers at a switch site.
