摘要： A switch for a medium or high voltage traction line testing device includes a plurality of normally-opened pairs of contacts connected in series, wherein each pair of contacts is equipped with a separate control coil. The switch further comprises a wireless power transfer supply module being on ground potential for supplying cascaded wireless power transfer receivers comprising the transmitting coil, high frequency inverter and microcontroller, a plurality of cascaded wireless power transfer receivers for supplying control coil of pairs of contacts. Each of the wireless power transfer receivers is referenced to the floating potential and comprises a receiving coil. Each of the control coils is connected to one of the wireless power transfer receivers. The receiving coils of the wireless power transfer receivers are magnetically coupled, and a wireless power transfer supply module is located in the middle of the cascaded wireless power transfer receivers.

摘要： An encapsulated medium voltage vacuum circuit interrupter includes a line terminal, a load terminal, a vacuum interrupter, an operating mechanism and an elongated, insulated, generally cylindrical encapsulating housing. The vacuum interrupter includes a vacuum envelope containing a fixed contact assembly and a movable contact assembly movable between a closed circuit position in electrical communication with the fixed contact assembly and an open circuit position spaced apart from the fixed contact assembly. The fixed contact assembly is electrically interconnected with the line terminal. A flexible conductor electrically connects the movable contact assembly with the load terminal. The operating mechanism moves the movable contact assembly between the closed circuit position and the open circuit position. The housing includes a first end supporting the line terminal and an opposite second end supporting the load terminal. The housing encloses the vacuum interrupter, the flexible conductor and the operating mechanism.

摘要： A trigger system for chemical actuators, e.g. of the type used for high voltage isolation, is disclosed. A light source, preferably a laser, emits a powerful, highly concentrated pulse of light energy. The pulse is conveyed by fiber optics to a chemical explosive charge, which it detonates. Because the fiber optics used are excellent electrical insulators, it is possible to locate all of the trigger system except the output end of the fiber optics at ground potential, eliminating the need for shielding the trigger system against high-voltage noise.

摘要： A coating having uniform resistive properties is applied to the surface of a light-transmitting fiber or conduit which is supported by the wall of an insulating enclosure between regions of substantially different potentials. The same coating also covers the exterior surface of the supporting wall. Electrical discharge along the conduit surface, resulting from the breaking down of surface resistivity between localized areas of differing potential, is prevented by the presence of the coating which provides a resistive surface while allowing charge mobility sufficient to neutralize adjacent areas of differing potential.

摘要： A circuit breaker comprising a hollow insulating column, and an insulated cut-off chamber supported by the column and having movable and fixed contact members therein that are connected to terminals. An optical link current transformer is also provided and comprises a polarized light beam transmitter arranged at the bottom of the column which transmits a beam to the interior of the column, an optical Faraday element, and a toroidal winding directly securing one of the terminals connected to the contact members. The Faraday element is connected to the toroidal winding so as to be subjected to magnetic fields generated by current in the winding. Reflecting mirrors are provided in the column and in the cut-off chamber for transmitting light beams from the transmitter through the column and cut-off chamber and to the Faraday element. Additional reflecting mirrors are provided to transmit light beams from the Faraday element back through the cut-off chamber, the column and then to a photoelectric cell arranged at the base of the column.

Latch means normally prevents coupling-release but is operable in response to predetermined electrical conditions to release the coupling and allow high-speed operation of the control device before the operator operates.
