摘要: A power supply device performs grid connected operation and autonomous operation. The grid connected operation is operation in which power is supplied from an AC power network and a DC power source to a load. The autonomous operation is operation in which the power supply device is disconnected from the AC power network and power is supplied from the DC power source to the load. The power supply device includes a power inverter configured to receive a DC power supplied from the DC power source and output an AC power, an operation mode switching unit configured to switch between grid connected operation and autonomous operation, and an output information control unit configured to control output information about the AC power output from the power inverter.

摘要: Communications over a wired data telecommunications network between and among power sourcing equipment (PSE), powered devices (PDs), and the like, take place over the wired medium by modulating an inline power signal. Any suitable communications protocol may be used and any suitable modulation scheme can be used. Examples of information to be communicated include: changing power requirements or capabilities (higher or lower) and acknowledgements thereof (permitting finer power class gradation than available under existing standards); sensor data; wireless data converted to wired data; status signaling, and the like. Such communications may be used for a number of purposes including supporting redundant provision of services over a network.

摘要: A power supply system and a method for providing power supply to electrical equipment from conventional lighting circuits in buildings are disclosed. The invention is intended to provide power supply to electrical equipment, without the need of conventional alternating current (AC) power supply power socket outlets. Instead, it obtains electrical power from existing lighting points. An embodiment of the invention is disclosed for achieving this without disrupting normal operation of turning on and off existing lighting sources. The present invention consists a wall switch unit and a lighting source control unit. The wall switch unit controls the level or waveforms of AC voltage supply to the lighting source control unit while the lighting source control unit detects the AC voltage level or waveforms for switching on or off a lighting source. Additionally, regardless of whether the lighting source is switched on or off, an uninterrupted power supply is derived from the lighting source control unit with this power supply being usable for electrically powering external electrical equipment connected thereto.

摘要: The service phase of the electrical connection to a customer endpoint device located within a power distribution system is determined by various techniques. At the feeder level, the system may be programmed to induce momentary power interruptions, thereby causing missed zero crossings at the customer endpoint devices. The pattern of these interruptions is a controlled one, designed specifically to avoid causing noticeable disruption even to sensitive devices, but to be unusual enough that it is statistically unlikely to be naturally occurring. The monitoring of the zero crossing information is used to determine the phase of the service line to the customer endpoint devices.

摘要: The present invention relates to the field of transferring information over the power line to and/or from the device or devices powered by said power line. Devices that may be powered by either alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) their operation may be controlled by which type of power they are receiving, AC, +DC or −DC. Data may also transmitted by alternating the polarity of each half cycle of the power line, on a one half by one half cycle basis, in a controlled manner such that the powered device may receive such data to control its mode of operation. A method of reducing the heat in the switching devices and a system of encoding the data such that each powered device may have a different address and therefore may return data when requested is also disclosed.

摘要: A switching controller that allows a load to be controlled from either a switched wall outlet or a switch local to the load. A standard “3 way” SPDT wall switch replaces the normal SPST switch to allow for simple generation of a control pulse that is detected by the local control device to allow a change of state of the power provided to the load from either the wall switch or a manual switch directly connected to the control device.

摘要: A system and technique for detecting a device that requires power is implemented with a power detection station. The power detection system includes a detector having an output and a return which are coupled together by the device when the device requires power. The detector includes a word generator for generating test pulses for transmission to the device via the detector output, and a comparator for comparing the detector output with the detector return. The power detection station has a wide variety of applications, including by way of example, a switch or hub.
