An e-mail client application provides a user interface through which the sender of an e-mail message can enter the message and a time period for destruction of the message. The e-mail client application may also receive self-destructing e-mail messages. When a self-destructing e-mail message is received, the destruction date associated with the e-mail message is identified and the message is destroyed at the specified time. The e-mail client application can also limit the number and type of operations that may be performed on a self-destructing e-mail. An e-mail server application is also provided that receives requests from the e-mail client application to transmit self-destructing e-mail messages and perform other functions.

The storage device comprises a processor communicably connected to a computer interface, a network interface, and a storage means. The processor is communicates with a computer and a file server through the computer interface and the network interface, respectively. The computer may request a file from the processor and the processor responds by either (1) providing the requested file to the computer on a read-only basis if the file is cached on the storage means, (2) obtains the file from the file server if the file is available from the file server, caches the obtained file on the storage means, and provides the obtained file to the computer on a read-only basis, or (3) returns a file unavailable notice to the computer.

摘要： For an electronic communication environment, an apparatus for refining addresses in a group messaging environment is disclosed. The apparatus may include a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor, including code that identifies a message addressed to a group, resolves the group into a plurality of addressees, and sends the message to a subset of the addressees. The apparatus may notify the user that the message is addressed to the group. The apparatus may further receive user input defining the subset of the addressees, wherein the message is addressed based on the user input. Additionally, the apparatus may prompt for confirmation in response to the user selecting all addressees in the group. A method and computer program product also perform the functions of the apparatus.

The assignment engine also assigns the at least one electronic resource to the target subject. The assignment engine is coupled to the communication unit to receive the assignment request.
