    摘要: A pontoon boat includes first and second pontoons on the port and starboard sides of the boat and a main deck attached to the top of the pontoons. A front wave deflector extends forwards and upwards from the front of the main deck at an angle. The front wave deflector is held above the water and does not contact the water while the pontoon boat is floating in or moving through calm water. The front wave deflector contacts the tops of waves when the pontoon boat is navigating rough water and pushes the water beneath the pontoon boat deck. This allows the pontoon boat to navigate rough water without loss of momentum and without excessive up and down pitching.

    摘要: There is provided a hybrid boat hull having a forward center vee-section extending from the bow and becoming shallower as the vee-shaped bow transitions aft to ensure the boat will not slam or pound in a seaway and additional lift generated by buffered air under the hull. The hull of the boat incorporates a centerline vee-hull which becomes shallower as it transitions aft to further enhance trapping air under the vessel to provide lift. The hull also includes a pair of spaced apart outboard sponsons extending from and below said central hull, beginning from above the center line of the vee-hull at the forward end to below the centerline vee-bow portion of the hull at the aft end. The outboard sponsons are connected to each other in such a manner as to provide a means to trap air, water, or a mixture of air and water between said sponsons.

    摘要: A device for diminishing flow resistance in a moon pool is disclosed. The device includes a guide structure (16) having a lattice shape. The guide structure includes horizontal guide plates (20), guide ramps (22), longitudinal reinforcing beams (24) and a hinge axis (H). The horizontal guide plates are spaced apart from each other along a longitudinal direction of a hull and arranged in rows along a lateral direction of the hull. The guide ramps are arranged in rows along the lateral direction and coupled to the respective horizontal guide plates. Front ends of the guide ramps are inclined upwards towards a bow side of the hull and spaced apart from rear ends of the adjacent fore horizontal guide plates. The longitudinal reinforcing beams support the horizontal guide plates and the guide ramps. The lattice guide structure is rotated around the hinge axis towards a transit position or a working position.

    摘要: Presented is a water propulsion system for ships that enhances the efficiency of both the water propulsor(s) and the ship itself. This is accomplished by location of water inlet(s) for the water propulsor(s) to take advantage of water flow characteristics around a secondary bow of the ship and also proximal a stern of the ship. A primary object is to reduce the energy of the bow and/or stern waves of the ship and hence reduce the ship's wave making resistance. A secondary object is to reduce the frictional resistance of the ship. The water propulsors are preferably electrically driven with built in stator field windings and armatured rotors. A bow oriented water propulsor(s) would preferably have its discharge into a gas cavity in the underside of the ship. Both bow oriented and stern oriented water propulsor(s) would optimally have steering and/or reversing mechanisms.

    摘要: In a boat of the "planing" or "semiplaning" type and in which the rear portion of the bottom is substantially straight in the longitudinal direction and tapers rearwardly, the side faces of the hull are formed with rearwardly facing steps crossing the highest waterline and placed substantially at or behind the point of maximum bottom width, so as to cause ventilation of the rearwardly converging side faces at speeds below planing speed. This substantially eliminates the resistance caused by suction on said faces and permits the bottom to be given a pronounced rearward taper with a width of the bottom at the stern less than 70% of maximum width, with consequent improved performance at low speeds. To minimize flow disturbance the steps taper towards both ends and extend upwards and forwards with decreasing inclination.
