    摘要: A carburetor for increasing the efficiency and horse power of an internal combustion engine. The carburetor generally includes a body including a throat extending therethrough, a deflector plate extending inwardly towards a cross-sectional center within the throat, a venturi member extending within the throat downstream of the deflector plate and including a channel fluidly connected thereof, and a throttle plate disposed within the throat downstream of the venturi member. The deflector plate is directed towards the channel to redirect at least a portion of an air stream entering the throat through the channel to mix with a fuel stream injected within the channel. A water supply line injects a hot water stream within the throat downstream of the venturi member, wherein the hot water stream mixes with the fuel stream to atomize the fuel stream for vaporization within the internal combustion engine.

    摘要: A carburetor includes a main body defining a bore, a main passage and a venturi defined within the bore, and a fuel nozzle carried by the main body and including a fuel nozzle outlet communicating with the venturi. The carburetor may also include a valve member translatable across an axis of the bore, such that in a closed state, the valve member closes the main passage but maintains the venturi at least partially open. The carburetor may also include a needle valve disposed at an end of the fuel nozzle substantially opposite of the fuel nozzle outlet to variably control flow of fuel into a fuel nozzle inlet, and a needle valve transmission may be coupled between a throttle shaft and the needle valve to convert rotation of the throttle shaft to translation of the needle valve.

    摘要: A valve is disclosed having a valve closing member that divides the valve bore into passageways of unequal cross sectional areas when in an open position. A venturi is positioned within the valve bore upstream of the valve closing member. The throat of the venturi may be within one pipe diameter of the valve closing member. The venturi is offset from the bore centerline so as to align with the larger of the two passageways. Turbulence is reduced allowing more accurate pressure measurements to be made within the venturi yielding more accurate determination of volumetric flow rates.

    摘要: An apparatus for atomizing liquid fuel while mixing it with air, and varying the amount of each while maintaining a substantially constant fuel/air ratio for the intake manifold of an engine. The apparatus includes a frame (16) forming a passage (14) with a throat (44), with a second wall (56) of the passage being moveable toward and away from a stationary first wall (54) of the passage to vary the cross-section of the passage and thereby vary airflow. A fuel-carrying tube (24) has a proximal end (60) fixed to the first stationary wall and has a distal portion (62) that extends through a bore (64) in the moveable wall and with the moveable wall being slideable around the tube. The tube has at least one aperture (70) for flowing fuel into the passage, with the exposed aperture area being progressively increased as the moveable wall moves away from the stationary wall to flow a progressively increasing amount of fuel into the passage. The moveable wall is moved by a lever (134) that can be moved by the throttle of the engine.

Each of the sleeves is colored a particular color corresponding to the physical parameters of the sleeve, for example, inner diameter and shape. Similarly, base plates and metering blocks of different capacities are provided such that the operating parameters of the carburetor can be changed. Like the venturi sleeves, the base plates and metering blocks are color-coded to indicate their physical parameters. With this color-coding, the observer can quickly and easily determine the physical characteristics of the carburetor.

Positioning cords (50) are formed in the lower outer cylindrical surface (44) of each venturi sleeve (24), so that the positioning cords (50) must face and abut each other when the venturi sleeves are properly inserted into the bores of the carburetor body, thus assuring that the sleeves are properly oriented in the carburetor body. Flow director surfaces (104, 106, 108 and 110) in the carburetor bowl (102) guide the air toward the venturi sleeves.
