    摘要: A method for the production of a piston for an internal combustion engine is proposed, in which a piston blank (1) is forged, which is subsequently separated into two parts, to form an upper piston part (5) and a lower piston part (6), after which the lower piston part (6) and the upper piston part (5) are machined and then welded to one another again. Subsequently, the piston is finished. In order to simplify the production process and make it cheaper, during forging of the piston blank (1), the top (2) of the piston blank (1) is already partly given the shape of the underside of the upper piston part (5), and the underside of the piston blank (1) is given the shape that corresponds to the interior (3) of the lower piston part (6). Furthermore, after forging of the piston blank (1) and before separation of the upper piston part (5) from the lower piston part (6), the top (2) of the piston blank (1) is given the finished shape of the underside of the upper piston part (5) by means of a cutting machining method.

    摘要: The mounting consists of a metal sheet ring, which cross section is substantially like a nullUnull, wherein the free ends of the nullUnull branches rest and couple to the annular seats being defined in the inside face of the carrier hoop, matching their curbs of internal edge; wherein said support and coupling are sealed by respective annular welding beads extending along the mentioned annular seats and rest on the body of the carrier hoop, being conformed an inside annular cooling tube which inside surface is constituted by a metal sheet ring and the inside diametrical surface of the carrier hoop extending between said two annular seats. The method is as follows: take a flat metal sheet of a desired thickness, and cut it creating a circular disk; produce, by stamping on said disk, a circumferential wall having a folded edge of diverging fin; cut and remove the circular bottom, by stamping the piece being constituted in the previous step; take the ring constituted in the previous step and form a second folded edge of diverging fin by stamping the circular edge opposite to the one already existing in the first diverging fin. The metal sheet ring being obtained consists of a sole body of metal sheet which cross section is a nullCnull profile with diverging fins responding to different pre-established designs.

    摘要: A light metal piston for internal combustion engines has a pair of inserts on the inside of upper piston skirt made of a material of lower thermal expansion coefficient than that of the light metal, such as steel. Each insert has a pair of bands which are joined by a connecting portion of the insert in the region of the gudgeon pin boss. Each band extends circumferentially away from the gudgeon pin boss, so as to control thermal expansion of the piston skirt. A free end of each band are bent inwardly, so that the insert can be set firmly on the mold core of the piston during casting operation by snapping the bent portions of the insert into the grooves on the mold core.
