Abstract: A dual-mode lock for a locker has a base, a knob, a key lock assembly, a housing and a combination lock assembly. The base is mounted through the locker. The knob is attached to the base. The key lock assembly is mounted in the knob, and has a lock core mounted rotatably through the base and having a latch for locking the locker. The housing is attached to the base and has a combination mount. The combination lock assembly is mounted in the combination mount to selectively lock or allow the lock core to rotate. Therefore, if a combination is forgotten or lost, the dual-mode lock may be opened quickly with a corresponding key and the combination reset reducing building management stress and preventing replacement costs.

Abstract: A handle mechanism for a portable computer having a base and a cover movably mounted to the base, includes a handle, two fixing assemblies, and a coded lock. The handle includes a crossbar, and two arms respectively protruding from opposite ends of the crossbar. A mortise hole is defined in one of the arms. The fixing assemblies are respectively configured for attaching the arms of the handle to the base. The coded lock is fixed to the base near one of the arms of the handle. The coded lock includes a tenon portion. The tenon portion is capable of extending into the mortise hole of the handle to lock the handle. The handle mechanism acts as both a handle and a lock for carrying and locking the portable computer.

Abstract: A locking mechanism that allows a live bolt lock plate and a primary vertical lock plate to move relative to one another irrespective of the plates connection with a drive mechanism is provided. The drive mechanism includes first and second gears and is used to move the locking mechanism between locked and unlocked positions. The live bolt lock plate has a slot defined therein and is engaged with the first gear of the drive mechanism. The primary lock plate is engaged with the second gear of the drive mechanism and has a guide pin mounted thereon. The guide pin is positioned within the slot to slidingly couple the live bolt lock plate and the primary lock plate, in addition to their connection with the drive mechanism. A tumbler stack is associated with the primary lock plate for selectively allowing the primary locking plate to be moved to the unlocked position.
