摘要： There is provided a commercially packaged mammal pet food product that includes a manufactured, shelf-life stable food substrate and a combination of functional additives. The functional additives include at least one non-palatable plant-based remedy and/or dietary fiber source that are present to strengthen and/or maintain a specified health indicator of a mammal pet animal. The food product is portioned and packaged with the functional additives being present in predetermined concentrations and amounts sufficient to be effective in achieving said indications on regular feeding of the pet animal with said food product. The food substrate is present in a proportion sufficient to mask the flavor and/or odor of the non-palatable additive and is made-up of a unique combination of materials that are able to be processed at lower temperatures to preserve the natural botanical functional additive's activity.

摘要： A safety guard system provided for a machine having a ram which is movable toward and away from a work zone and an actuator which is operable for driving the ram through a ram stroke toward the work zone. The safety guard system includes a safety guard mounted for movement along a guard path between open and closed positions with respect to the work zone. The safety guard is releasably coupled to the ram for movement during the ram stroke from the open to the closed position before completion of the ram stroke, and the safety guard is arranged to decouple from the ram upon either one of reaching the closed position or earlier encountering an obstruction in the guard path. A guard sensor effects a first signal upon the safety guard reaching the closed position, and an object sensor effects a second signal upon decoupling of the safety guard from the ram. A controller is responsive to the first and second signals such that the controller enables completion of the ram stroke upon receiving the first signal, and the controller terminates the ram stroke upon receiving the second signal prior to receiving the first signal.

摘要： The specification discloses a safety device for presses and other similar machines in which stock material is manually inserted between converging machine parts. A ram and sleeve arrangement cooperates with a collar mounted on the moving portion of the machine to insure that the operator's hands are drawn completely back to the safety position prior to the commencement of the machine stroke. In the event that the ram does not operate at the commencement of the press cycle, the collar abuts the sleeve on the downward stroke of the press, and moves the pull-back mechanism therewith to the safety position.

摘要： A pneumatically buffered drive system is provided which quickly moves a movable member, such as a press safety curtain or press bolster, a predetermined length in three sequential speed stages to prevent maximum acceleration from occurring at the end of the predetermined length. The movable member is coupled to a differential pressure piston which is initially pressurized on only one side of the piston to initiate movement. After traversing approximately half the predetermined length both sides of the piston are pressurized to decelerate the piston during the member movement for approximately the next third of the predetermined length. The remaining length is traversed with the decelerating pressure being vented to positively finish the motion along the predetermined path. In vertical moving members having significant mass such as press safety curtains, a higher pressure is used to decelerate the piston than the pressure used to drive the piston. The higher decelerating pressure is required to effectively compensate for the momentum of the accelerated vertical member.

摘要： A hand restraint safety mechanism for use by an operator of a production machine wherein (absent the present invention) the operator''s hand are exposed to the hazard of being caught by moving elements of the machine when the machine is stroked. The hand restraints for the operator''s hands are operatively coupled via cables with a fluidic power cylinder which is mounted in fixed dimensional relation to the machine with which the safety mechanism is used. The power cylinder is operative between restraining and released positions to control the length of each cable extended from a housing on which cylinder is mounted. When the cables are maximally extended, the operator can reach into the machine to load or unload a workpiece. When the cables are minimally extended, the operator''s hands are positively removed from the areas of the machine where they might be caught by moving machine elements. The operation of the restraint cylinder is via a pneumatic control circuit which is operatively coupled with the machine with which the safety mechanism is in use. Only when the power cylinder is in the restraining position can a machine stroke, i.e. a machine cycle, be initiated. During the machine stroke the power cylinder cannot operate to the released position. The safety mechanism includes a failsafe valve means and circuit arrangement through which a fluidic machine start signal can be supplied to the machine only when the safety mechanism has positively removed both operator''s hands from the danger area.
