    摘要: A cutting device for a thin metallic plate is provided which shortens time for shaping or the like on a cut edge to improve manufacturing efficiency, and increases the life of a cutter. The cutting device for cutting a thin metallic plate W with a predetermined width includes a shearing cutter 7 which is made of a metal having a higher hardness than the thin plate W and has a blade angle of 50 to 90°. A contacting member 5 is provided which includes a groove 8 facing the shearing cutter 7 and makes contact with the back side of the thin plate W. In the groove 8, an interval a between upper edges 9a and 9b of inner walls 9 is set at 15 to 30 times a thickness b of the thin plate W. A depth c of a deepest portion 11 in the groove 8 is set at one to three times the thickness b of the thin plate W. The inner walls 9 of the groove 8 include curved surfaces 10, each of which has a curvature radius of 15 to 50 times the thickness b of the thin plate.

    摘要: The invention relates to a device for truncating tubes, comprising at least one knife, which cooperates at the end of the cut with a counter-knife positioned within the tube to be truncated and which is connected mechanically to a core of strong magnetic permeability. In one embodiment, a winding is wound in a framework around the tube to be truncated, to create a magnetic field in the core through the tube to be truncated so as to be able to act magnetically on the longitudinal position of the core and thus on that of the counter-knife. At least one pair of tubular sleeves are fitted at each of the ends of the framework and are formed of a material of strong magnetic permeability, to direct and form the lines of induction. In another embodiment, the winding is arranged around a core which is fixed with respect to said winding and whose axis is positioned parallel and at a distance from the longitudinal axis of the tube to be truncated. The fixed core is provided at its ends with extensions which extend towards the tube and which have openings for the passage of the tube around two zones which are spaced of a length substantially close to that of a free core, such that the magnetic flux created by the winding can be channeled in the fixed core, the extensions and the free core.

The machine has a machine frame with a holding assembly thereon for holding a cylinder of material for cutting and rotating the material cylinder about a central longitudinal axis. A disc shaped rotatable cutting blade is carried by the carriage assembly and drive means rotates the cutting blade. A carriage assembly is mounted on the frame for movement to present the rotating cutting blade to the rotating material cylinder for cutting the cylinder transversely into material slices. A brake mechanism is actuable to positively brake gripping chuck rotation upon cessation of the gripping chuck drive means operation. Moreover, a separate brake mechanism is operable to positively brake cutting blade rotation upon cessation of the cutting blade drive means operation. This braking prevents free running of the gripping chuck, material cylinder and cutting blade.

    摘要: A rotary cutting mechanism for transversely slicing an elongated rotatably driven roll of material such as plastic film into a number of narrower rolls includes a pair of spaced-apart knife cutting blades mounted for free rotation about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the roll. A rotary saw blade is mounted intermediate and in axial alignment with the cutting blades, and is independently driven to remove material between the cutting blade edges as the blades are moved together to slice the roll. The finished narrower cut rolls therefore exhibit smoothly finished side edges and are readily separable from each other, there being no frictional heat developed by the cutting blade edges which are free to turn with the material on the roll as they slice through it.

    摘要: A multiple shaft, turret roll-slitting machine having a slitting knife mounted for movement along a path parallel to the axis of a roll to be slit and for radial movement into the roll at selected axial locations. The machine has at least two shafts upon which rolls of material are to be mounted and those shafts are movable from a cutting station to a loading and unloading station and are mounted on a turret to achieve such movement. When a first shaft is in the cutting station, it is oriented relevant to the slitting knife such that it can be slit into narrow width tape or ribbons by the slitter. At the same time, a second shaft is located in the loading and unloading station such that a previously slit roll can be removed and a new roll can be loaded into the shaft while the roll on the first shaft is being cut. The turret is then indexed reversing the positions of the first and second shafts.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for cutting hollow cylindrical members such as glass bottles includes rotary support structure on which a hollow cylindrical member may be rotated about its axis. The rotary support structure includes axially and laterally spaced support rollers with a pair of laterally spaced of the rollers adjustable toward and away from the other laterally spaced rollers to make a cut of a selected length. One support roller has a cutting edge engageable with the periphery of the supported member during rotation for forming a circular score line with a full revolution thereof. Heat is applied to the member along the score line such as by a flame, and the member is then rapidly cooled such as by quenching with water to effect a break along the score line. The edges at the break are smoothed by sanding with an abrasive material or the like.
