摘要： A wood-turning lathe includes a driven shaft mounted with a pulley unit having a plurality of angularly spaced retaining holes, a spring-biased pin and a cam member associated with both the pin and the pulley unit. When the cam member is moved to a locking position, the pin is urged by the cam member to engage a selected one of the retaining holes in the pulley unit to immobilize the pulley unit. When the cam member is moved to an unlocking position, the pin disengages from the selected one of the retaining holes in the pulley unit to permit rotation of the pulley unit.

摘要： An indexing turret stop assembly for a machine tool to provide variable stop indications. The indexing turret stop is generally comprised of a base structure for providing a turret platform and a predetermined number of indexed positions of rotation, and a plurality of stop rod assemblies extending perpendicularly from the base structure and corresponding to the number of indexed positions of rotation. Each stop rod assembly provides sliding and rotational adjustment to vary the overall length of the assembly. A dial micrometer is provided in combination with the indexing turret stop to provide an indication of the proper stopping position.

摘要： A machine tool wherein the frame supports a reciprocable carriage which in turn supports an indexible tool turret. The carriage is adjustable sideways with reference to the frame by means of two wedge-like shifting members which flank the ways for the carriage and normally share the movements of the carriage lengthwise of the ways. When the carriage is to be shifted sideways, the shifting members are caused to move relative to the carriage by means of a transmission which is mounted in the interior of the carriage and receives motion from an axially reciprocable sleeve which is movable into abutment with one of several axially adjustable bolts, one for each angular position of the turret.

摘要： The spindle supporting head of a multiple spindle screw machine is intermittently rotated to place its spindles into successively different angular positions about the axis of a spindle drive shaft which extends coaxially into the center of the head. When each spindle is rotatably indexed into a particular angular position, a piece of bar stock is fed through the spindle and projects beyond one end thereof. Each of a plurality of tool slides, which are mounted adjacent the end of the head from which the spindle projects, carries a tool which registers with the stock projecting from an adjacent spindle. The slides are connected to servo motors which are operable by an associated computer to move their tools toward and away from the stock projecting from the associated spindles. Normally the head is secured against rotation by a hirth ring which intermittently is moved from its locking position to release the head so that it can be rotatably indexed. Each spindle is surrounded by a chuck operating sleeve which causes the associated collet chuck to be opened when the spindle approaches a position immediately preceding its desired angular position, and to be closed when the spindle reaches such position.

摘要： A stock stop assembly for a multiple spindle lathe is disclosed. A bracket secured to the lathe has a non-threaded aperture formed therethrough. A stock stop includes a head portion having an abutment surface and a threaded shank portion disposed within the bracket aperture. The shank portion can have a flat surface formed thereon. A split locking collar is threaded onto the shank portion. When the shank portion is inserted within the bracket aperture, the locking collar engages the bracket to determine the relative position of the abutment surface. A bore is formed through the adjacent split ends of the lock nut, and a threaded fastener is disposed within the bore. The threaded fastener is tightened to compress the locking collar about the shank portion to secure the locking collar in position. A threaded transverse aperture is also formed in the bracket. A threaded fastener is threaded into the transverse aperture. When tightened, the threaded fastener extends through the transverse aperture into engagement with the flat surface of the shank portion to retain the stock stop in the bracket.
