    摘要: A dispenser having a transfer mechanism for transferring between a first source and a second source of sheet material, and a method for transferring between the first source and the second source. Dispensing is transferred from a first source to a second source upon an absence of sheet material from the first source. The transfer mechanism includes a transfer roller with a slot to receive a free end of sheet material from the second source. The transfer roller also includes a plurality of raised portions, the raised portions are free to rotate through a dispensing roller when there is an absence of sheet material from the first source. This rotation introduces the free end of sheet material from the second source to the dispensing roller, and allows dispensing from the second source. Afterwards, the transfer roller is set to receive sheet material from a new source of sheet material.

    摘要: A method for cutting an elastomer cable into ultra-precise, defect-free segments of consistent length, and an apparatus to perform the same. The invented apparatus comprises cable advancement, cable clamping and cable shearing systems. The cable advancement system comprises rollers with a groove substantially matching the diameter of the cable. The cable clamping system comprises a pair of dies with a preferably conical feed hole and a clamping hole substantially matching the diameter of the cable. The cable shearing system comprises a preferably extra keen coated cryo treated movable razor blade that is held at an adjustable angle against the face of the clamping dies and slides in a linear path at a low sawing angle. In one embodiment, a second razor blade for nicking the cable prior to shearing—on substantially the opposite side of the cable from where shearing begins—is used to prevent tears in cable slices. The invented apparatus can be manually operated, or it can be motorized.

    摘要: A dispenser for dispensing a web from a roll of paper includes a housing and a cover connected thereto to provide access to the housing interior. The dispenser has mechanism for supporting a paper roll and a drive roller and tension roller operatively associated therewith which urges paper from the paper roll into contact with the drive roller for dispensing a length of paper from the paper roll. Actuator mechanism operates the drive roller and extends across substantially the entire housing at the bottom thereof. A roller frame assembly is mounted within the housing and carries the tension roller and a transfer roller. The transfer roller releasably holds the free end of a first paper roll while paper from the second roll is dispensed upon actuation of the actuator to rotate the drive roller. Because the paper from a second paper roll is positioned between the drive roller and the transfer roller, rotation of the transfer roller during rotation of the drive roller is prevented until the second paper roll is exhausted.

A blade also mounted on the frame cuts the wire rope at preselected interval lengths, the blade being movable between cutting and feeding positions. A timing mechanism coordinates movement of the feed and blade mechanism so that the blade first assumes a non-cutting position during the feeding when the wire is moving and then cuts the rope when the feed has stopped and the wire rope is at a still position.

    摘要: A resaw apparatus and method for rapidly and accurately cutting elongate wood cants longitudinally. A thin-kerfed circular saw blade is utilized to cut the cants and a high-speed feed mechanism, having two sets of separately driven dual rollers which pinch the cant therebetween for both moving the cant and determining its direction of movement, urges the cant against the cutting edge of the saw blade. A pair of blade guides mounted on opposite sides of the blade hold the blade in position while water is fed through the blade guides to the side surfaces of the blade, thereby lubricating the blade-guide interface and removing heat generated by the blade guide and cutting of the wood to prevent warping of the blade from heat. The direction of movement of the cants is determined by the orientation of the two sets of rollers, which are mounted on respective movable carriages supported by slides incorporating directional alignment adjustments therein. The width of cant which may be accommodated and the centering of that cant on the saw blade is determined by a readily adjustable positioning mechanism connected to both carriages for adjusting the respective positions of the rollers. A conveyor is also provided for supplying cants to the feed mechanism more rapidly than the feed mechanism can use them, thereby abutting subsequent cants against their predecessors. The feed rollers and conveyor are controlled, powered and synchronized by a hydraulic drive and control system, while a pneumatic system provides the elastic force for pinching the feed rollers together and controlling their separation.
