摘要： A battery pack (174; 174′) having at least one all-solid-state battery cell for driving a motor of a battery-powered portable tool (1) can be charged using regenerated electric power generated by an electric motor (196). However, charging with regenerated electric power might cause damage to the battery pack if the battery cells are not in a state capable of being recharged with regenerated electric power. Therefore, the battery pack includes a battery-condition determination circuit that is configured or programmed to: (i) assess the condition of the at least one all-solid-state battery cell and (ii) generate an electrical signal that indicates whether or not the battery pack is in a state that permits charging using the regenerated electric power.

The sensor arrangement extends across a major part of a surface of the pouch cells and is configured such that the height of the stack across the extension is approximately equal. The sensor arrangement has a pressure sensor. The pressure sensor is configured for detecting a pressure force acting in the stack direction on the pouch cells.

In one embodiment the cells are think cells are stacked within the housing such that each sell is layered over or under an adjacent cell and a resiliently deformable substrate located between adjacent battery cells. In another embodiment the cells may be interconnected to have a combined output voltage of at least 9 volts and to produce a combined average discharge current of greater than 20 amps. A lithium-polymer tool battery and a battery powered tool are also part of the invention.
