摘要： A clipping apparatus comprises a clip capable of being arbitrarily opened/closed, a stop tube for closing the clip, a link member capable of being inserted into the stop tube, and engaged with the clip, a sheath section capable of housing the clip and the stop tube therein, and a manipulating wire inserted into the sheath section. This clipping apparatus further comprises a hook section for, when the clip and the stop tube is protruded frontally of the sheath section, causing the sheath section and the stop tube to be engaged with each other, and disabling the stop tube from being housed in the sheath section again.

摘要： This document discusses an exovascular approach to treating an aneurysm using a minimally-invasive instrument guided by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), or another suitable imaging device. A trajectory guide entry device assists in targeting the aneurysm and determining the proper trajectory thereto. Examples of the aneurysm treatment device include a clip, a clasp, a snare, a loop, a hook, a staple, and an electrocautery or other electrode, or any combination of such devices. The aneurysm treatment device is delivered by a probe, such as a tube or other catheter.

A device is inserted in the patient's stomach through the esophagus, including an unit adapted to grasp and pull a portion of the gastroesophageal junction into the stomach, and an unit adapted to move a portion of the fundus towards the esophagus. The device also can place fasteners to hold the gastric wall and the esophageal wall secured together, thus forming a valve between esophagus and stomach. An adhesive compound can be used to stabilize the juncture of the two walls.

摘要： A four-spikes surgical skin staple is composed of two stems which form a 60 degree angle V-shaped figure and four spikes, which are composed of two identical outer long spikes and two identical inner short spikes. Each of the two identical outer long spikes is fixed at a 60 degree angle to the outer end of each stem and each of the two identical inner short spikes is fixed at a 60 degree angle to the middle of each stem. The two outer long spikes are used to approximate the surgical incision wound and the two inner short spikes are used to stabilize the incision skin edges to prevent the overlapping of the skin edges. With no overlapping of the incision skin edges, the surgical incision wound can heal better and faster.

The clamp includes a pair of jaws actuatable relative to each other from a fully open to a fully closed position. The delivery/retrieval device is detachably connected to the clamp, and is operable by a surgeon to deploy the clamp, retrieve the clamp, or both. The actuator cooperates with the delivery/retrieval device and engages the clamp, and is operable by the surgeon to open and close the jaws of the clamp. The delivery/retrieval device and the actuator are operable to securely lock the jaws of the clamp in any position between the fully open and the fully closed positions, both during and after being detached from the delivery/retrieval device.

摘要： A vascular clip includes a peripheral body defining a plane, and tines extending from the body transversely with respect to the plane, the tines biased towards a planar configuration. The clip includes expandable elements disposed along its periphery that are biased to expand from compressed to expanded states for increasing a diameter of the clip upon deployment. The clip is provided within a housing slidably mounted on an introducer sheath. The sheath is introduced through a puncture into a blood vessel, and after a procedure is performed via the sheath, the housing is advanced into the puncture and the clip deployed until the tines engage tissue adjacent the opening in the vessel wall. The sheath is withdrawn from the patient, leaving the clip in place. The tines at least partially move towards the planar configuration to pull the engaged tissue together and close the opening.

摘要： Openings in a mammalian body made by any medical procedure or non-medical event are sealed with a bioabsorbable plug or sewn with a bioabsorbable suture. In one exemplary embodiment, the plug in dehydrated, unexpanded condition is pushed by a pushing device through the lumen of a needle until a first part of the plug is external to the opening and a second part is internal to the opening. The needle is then withdrawn while the position of the pushing device is maintained. The pushing device is then withdrawn, leaving the plug in sealing relation to the opening. The body's moisture causes the plug to expand to complete the sealing of the opening, or the expansion may be caused by exposure to air, light, or other stimulant. The opening may be formed in soft tissue, internal organs, or hard tissue. The plug seals the flow of liquid or gaseous biological fluids.
