摘要: An apparatus and method for an articulating microsurgical instrument is disclosed herein. The articulating microsurgical instrument may be configured to be operable with a Doppler probe, bone grasper, soft tissue grasper/dissector, scissors, flexible forceps, or a suction/irrigation line configured to provide tools within a surgical location that can be adjusted to a desired angle of operation. A tip assembly may comprise an articulating portion at a distal tip and the articulating portion may be configured to deflect upon actuation of an articulation control. The articulation control may be a trigger assembly or a roller wheel. A bayonet-style handle may include a set of posts configured to interact with the one or more control wires during actuation of the articulation control. One or more control wires may be housed in a lumen and actuated using a articulation control of a handle assembly.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a surgical instrument, such as a tissue sealing instrument, with an elongate shaft and first and second jaws movably coupled to the shaft. The second jaw comprises a cavity for receiving a staple cartridge and a substantially longitudinal reinforcing wall extending through the cavity. The instrument further includes a drive member configured to translate through the end effector to close the jaws and to engage a plurality of staples within the staple cartridge to drive the staples into tissue. The reinforcing wall provides additional support for the staple cartridge to inhibit deformation of the staple cartridge during actuation, thereby improving the staple formation in the tissue. This improves the tissue seal provided by the staples without increasing the overall size of the end effector.

摘要: An end effector includes an upper jaw, a lower jaw, and a staple cartridge assembly that is received within the lower jaw. The staple cartridge assembly includes an actuation sled and a knife sled. A drive beam is received within the lower jaw and is movable between a retracted beam position and an advanced beam position to move the actuation sled and the knife sled from retracted positions to advanced positions. The end effector includes a locking clip to releasably couple the drive beam to the knife sled.

摘要: A surgical instrument comprising a handle system, an elongate shaft assembly, and an end effector extending from the elongate shaft assembly is disclosed. The elongate shaft assembly comprises a first drive member and a second drive member. The end effector comprises an elongate channel configured to support a staple cartridge therein, an anvil movably coupled to the elongate channel, and a cutting member. When the handle system is engaged with the first drive member, a first actuation of the handle system advances the cutting member a first distance. When the handle system is engaged with the second drive member, a second actuation of the handle system moves the cutting member a second distance. The second distance is greater than the first distance.

摘要: An apparatus includes a body, a shaft assembly, and a deflection actuation assembly. The shaft defines a longitudinal axis and includes a flexible distal portion. The deflection actuation assembly includes a first rotary actuator, a translatable actuation member, and a resilient member. The translatable actuation member extends through the shaft assembly and is operatively coupled with the first rotary actuator and the flexible distal portion of the shaft assembly. The first rotary actuator is rotatable by a rotational force to thereby drive the translatable actuation member longitudinally. The resilient member is positioned between the first rotary actuator and the body and is configured to apply a friction force between the first rotary actuator and the body. The friction force is operable to increase the rotational force required to rotate the first rotary actuator.

摘要: A medical device for performing a hysterectomy is provided. The medical device has a tissue incision assembly that includes a first cup nested within a second cup. The tissue incision assembly also includes a spacer assembly between the first cup and the second cup in order to maintain a spacing between the first and second cups. The tissue incision assembly also has a cutting implement that has a portion extending between, and movable with respect to, the first and second cups. The cutting implement can provide a circular cut guided via the spacing between the first and second cups.
