Abstract: A clip delivery device includes a clip, a first tube configured to store the clip when the clip is closed; a second tube coupled to a proximal end of the first tube; a hook configured to hook a proximal end portion of the clip; a wire coupled to the hook, the wire is configured to pull the hook in a longitudinal direction thereof; an elongated portion coupled to a proximal end of the second tube, the elongated portion having the wire inserted therethrough; and an operating portion coupled to a proximal end of the elongated portion, the operating portion being configured to operate the wire, wherein the hook includes at least one structural mechanism that is configured to suppress rattling that occurs when the proximal end portion of the clip is pulled into the second tube.

Abstract: A surgical clamp jaw is disclosed, having an inner profile and a deflection control profile opposite the inner profile. In one embodiment, the inner profile has a first substantially concave profile in an unclamped position and a second substantially flat profile in a clamped position. In one embodiment, the deflection control profile has one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces, at least one set of which is not contacting each other when the inner profile is in the unclamped position and which is contacting each other when the inner profile is in the clamped position. In one embodiment, the surgical clamp jaw defines one or more flexion assistance voids, wherein at least one of the one or more flexion assistance voids is in contact with a gap between one of the one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces.

Abstract: A surgical implant includes a biocompatible member configured for securement to an underlying target surgical site and a radiation source integrated into or onto the biocompatible member. The surgical implant may be one of a clip, pin, or coil and the radiation source includes at least one brachytherapy capsule, or other radioactive material incorporated therein or provided thereon. The radioactive material provides a dose of radiation to the target surgical site. The surgical implant may also be formed from titanium, stainless steel or polymers. A surgical applier is provided for allowing a surgeon to apply the implant to a patient's tissue.

Abstract: A system for closing a blood vessel includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end and configured to be held in the hand of a user, an elongate body extending from the distal end of the housing, a distal housing having a proximal end coupled to a distal end of the elongate body and having a cavity including an opening on a side of the distal housing, a lumen passing through the elongate body and terminating at the cavity of the distal housing and configured to couple to a vacuum source, a sensor carried by the distal housing adjacent the cavity and configured for identifying a blood vessel, wherein the lumen is configured to maintain a vacuum within the cavity when a probe having a vessel closure module is inserted within the lumen and the vessel closure module is within the cavity.

Abstract: An open-close-repeatable rotatable hemoclip for the gastrointestinal tract with electrocoagulation is provided by the present invention, including a clamping assembly, a tightening assembly, an insulating outer tube assembly and a handle assembly. The clamping assembly is rotatable and open-close-repeatable under actions of the handle assembly, the insulating outer tube assembly and the tightening assembly. An electrode is arranged inside the handle assembly. The electrode is electrically connected to the clamping assembly through the insulating outer tube assembly and the tightening assembly. The hemoclip of the present invention can be easily rotated inside the human body according to various angle requirements. When a flaky and irregular bleeding occurs, a high frequency electric power can be introduced for an electrocoagulation hemostasis.

Abstract: A clip-over disposable assembly includes a switch assembly and a disposable body. The disposable body includes a first disposable member, a second disposable member including first and second wall portions, and a third disposable member. Abstract: A jaw closure mechanism for use in a surgical clip applier having first and second jaws movable relative to one another between a spaced-apart position and an approximated position to form a surgical clip about tissue. The jaw closure mechanism includes first and second eccentric wheels rotatably coupled to the respective first and second jaws. Each of the wheels includes a center and a pivot point that is offset relative to the center. A cable is disposed about each of the wheels. The cable is engaged to the first wheel at a first engagement point and to the second wheel at a second engagement point such that, upon application of a drive force to the cable, the wheels are rotated and displaced relative to the respective jaws from a first position to a second position to urge the jaws from the spaced-apart position to the approximated position.

Abstract: A system may include an introducer sheath including a retention member configured to anchor the introducer sheath in a natural body lumen having a wall. The system may also have an elongate member extending along a longitudinal axis through a working channel of the introducer sheath. Additionally, the system may have a manipulating portion coupled to a distal end of the elongate member. The manipulating portion may include at least one selectively actuatable member configured to transition between an undeployed configuration and a deployed configuration. In the undeployed configuration, the at least one actuatable member may extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis and in at least one position in the deployed configuration, the at least one actuatable member may extend radially outwardly from the longitudinal axis. In the deployed configuration, the manipulating portion and elongate member may be configured to be proximally retracted toward the working channel of the introducer sheath so as to move a distal portion of the wall towards a proximal portion of the wall.

Abstract: A surgical clip applier and methods for applying surgical clips to a vessel, duct, shunt, etc., during a surgical procedure are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical clip applier is provided having a housing with a trigger movably coupled thereto and an elongate shaft extending therefrom with opposed jaws formed on a distal end thereof. The trigger is adapted to advance a clip to position the clip between the jaws, and to move the jaws from an open position to a closed position to crimp the clip positioned therebetween.
