摘要： A system for filtering and treating waste generated or collected in the water of a fish pond. The system includes a pump, pre-filter, piping, a valve assembly, and a filter media container enclosing a plurality of discrete filter media. The filter media are generally hollow, plastic structures with a plurality of external ribs and internal dividing walls. The filter media has a high surface area-to-volume ratio and can support a high volumetric density of naturally occurring heterotrophic bacteria. The heterotrophic bacteria establish colonies on the internal and external surfaces of the filter media and biologically metabolize waste that is trapped on the media. The bacterial metabolization transforms much of the waste to an aesthetically and biologically neutral form thereby reducing the need for chemical treatment of the pond water. The system includes a backwashing mode to agitate and remove unreacted waste from the system and direct the waste stream out of the system, preferably to be used as fertilizer.

摘要： A system for the treatment of water integrating the use of pods. The pods have a sturdy rigid base and a flexible permeable membrane. The tank itself has a viewing port in the sidewall for an observer to witness the treatment process. The tank also has a base with anchor rods for securing the lid. The lid has a monitoring unit and permits the flow of water into and out from the tank. Inserted into the tank is an internal riser tube acting as the return line for the water to the monitoring unit and a directional flow disk. Pods are stacked on top of one another in a predetermined order for the treatment of the water.

摘要： The invention describes a filter container, system and method for filtering sewage effluent from a septic tank. The filter container includes a body having a lower end and an upper end, having walls forming a floor positioned at the lower end and sides connected to the floor and positioned to define an inner cavity extending from the lower end to the upper end. The body of the container has a mouth opening positioned at the upper end to provide access to the inner cavity. A lid is positioned on the upper end of the body so as to cover the mouth cavity to thereby close the container. A plurality of pipes connect the container in fluid communication with the septic tank or with another container, the plurality of pipes including at least one inlet pipe for delivering sewage effluent to the inner cavity and at least one outlet pipe for discharging filtered sewage effluent from the inner cavity. The filter container also includes at least one filter having a filter matrix of a lightweight particulate material, the filter being positioned within the inner cavity of the filter container for filtering the sewage effluent. A system for filtering sewage effluent from a septic tank, the system includes a plurality of filter containers connected in fluid communication with the septic tank such that each filter container of the plurality is connected with at least one other filter container to form a chain of filter containers.
