摘要： A static fluid mixer includes a cylindrical flow conduit and at least two inclined, axially spaced, and circumferentially offset internal baffle members for creating counter-rotating vortices in fluids passing through the conduit. The baffle members each have upstream edges spaced from an inner surface of the conduit by a first distance less than a radius of the conduit and downstream edges that are spaced from the inner surface of conduit by a second distance that is greater than the first distance. The baffle members can each have a trapezoidal shape with the downstream edge being smaller in length than the upstream edge thereof.

摘要： An apparatus and method for mixing at least two reactants is taught wherein a first reactant is delivered to a reaction zone through a first annular flow path and a second reactant is delivered to the reaction zone through a second annular flow path. The first and second annular flow paths are concentric with one another and the two reactants intermix with one another in the reaction zone. There is a rotating disc having a surface, defining one boundary of the reaction zone. The flow of the first and second reactants across the rotating disc and through the reaction zone is generally radial and has a residence time in the reaction zone of not more than about 100 msec, and preferably not more than about 50 msec. The reaction zone resides in a main reactor vessel and there is a driven agitator residing in the main reactor vessel to stir the contents thereof.

摘要： A mixer assembly is disclosed having a container with a closed sidewall, a closed bottom and a rim which forms an open top. The container is adapted to contain a product, such as roofing sealant, plaster or the like, to be mixed. A cover overlies the open top while a clamp detachably secures the cover to the container rim. A tubular conduit is attached to the cover so that the opposite ends of the conduit are open to the opposite sides of the cover. A stirrer assembly having a driven shaft and an agitator secured to one end of the shaft is then positioned within the container so that the agitator is solely contained within the container while the shaft extends exteriorly through the conduit and above the cover. A rotary drive, such as a drill, is then secured to the upper end of the shaft to rotatably drive the agitator and mix the product within the container.

摘要： A gravimetric blender of a reduced size mounted to be directly over the feed trough of small molding machines or extruders. The blender has an upright hollow rectangular frame with a transparent panel. The top of the frame forms a cradle for removably supporting a plurality of hoppers having a bottom discharge controlled by a valve mechanism. The valve mechanism is mounted on each hopper and is connected to a control station having a quick-disconnect fitting on the hopper. The hoppers discharge sequentially into a weigh bin supported on a load cell connected to the control station of the blender. The weigh bin has an openable bottom portion pivotally mounted thereon for actuation by the control station when the appropriate weight is registered by the load cell. The weigh bin discharges into a mixing chamber having an agitator or mixer removably mounted therein. The mixer is journaled for rotation in the transparent panel which is removable so that when the panel is removed, the mixer agitator is disengaged from its drive and removed with the panel.
