摘要： A tandem dual-head lithographic duplicator is equipped for operation in alternative modes, i.e., either for duplexing by printing on opposite faces of the copy sheets in sequence, or for simplexing. In the simplexing mode the printing of the copy sheets is carried out on one head simultaneously with the cleanup and preparation operations on the other head, with a sequence of printing jobs being performed alternately on one printing head and then on the other while, in each case, the non-printing head is being prepared. Accordingly, substantially continuous simplexing operation can be achieved except in the case of very short printing runs.

摘要： A system for duplicating images wherein a copy sheet is delivered to an impression cylinder. A first image is transferred to one side of each sheet. Each sheet is then removed from the impression cylinder, delivered to a reversing means and then to the impression cylinder, trailing edge first. The re-feeding is in synchronism with the second image whereby this second image is transferred to the opposite side of each sheet. The impression cylinder is provided with a first gripper for engaging the leading edge of each sheet when the sheet is first fed to the impression cylinder. A second gripper is provided on the impression cylinder for engaging the trailing edge of each sheet. The impression cylinder thus simultaneously carries the sheets as the sheets are moved through the stages of operation.

By means of tie rods (16-19), all the pairs of eccentric bushes (8, 9; 10, 11) are pivoted in common about the same angle, resulting in a linear movement in opposite directions (P or P') by the inner cylinders (3, 4) with respect to the straight line (G) on which the four cylinders are disposed.

摘要： An improved copy system includes a document feeding apparatus which is effective to move a document to an imaging station. An image on one side of the document is then projected on an electrostatically charged sheet to form a first master. The document is then transferred to an inverting mechanism which is effective to turn the document over and return it to the imaging station. A second master is then formed. The masters are sequentially transferred to a duplicating section which includes a printing unit. The printing unit utilizes the masters to print on one side of a sheet of material as it passes through a printing nip. During a printing operation, blank sheets are sequentially fed from a supply pile through the printing nip and the first master is utilized to print images on first or front sides of the sheets. The sheets which have been printed on only one side are then sequentially deposited in a hopper. After the sheets have been printed on one side, the first master is ejected from the printing unit and the second master is transferred to the printing unit. The sheets which have been printed on one side are then sequentially fed from the bottom of the hopper to the printing unit. As the sheets again pass through the printing nip, an image corresponding to the image on the second side of the document is printed on the second or back sides of the sheets. The equipment also exhibits features providing for printing sheets on both sides and for safe handling of the freshly printed sheets without smudging when the duplicator is of a type which employs wet ink in forming the copies.

The multicolor printing press is provided with a plurality of inking devices (7, 8) and plate feeding/discharging devices (5, 6) which are commonly made available for these plate cylinders (3, 4) so that these devices can individually be mounted onto and removed from the positions of printing press body (1) opposite the plate cylinders (3, 4), thus allowing the printing plate (50) to be automatically fed to and discharged from the plate cylinders (3, 4) and the printing operation to be quickly and easily changed as required.

摘要： An operation lever controller for a two-color printing apparatus having first and second units adapted to perform printing independently of each other and arranged such that all steps of respective printing operations are performed by rotating respective operation levers in multiple stages. The operation levers, ratchet wheels, set cams for changing and positioning the operation levers in respective multiple stages and arms provided with respective magnets are fixed on corresponding drive shafts of the first and second units. Pairs of feed pallets are respectively provided on unit frames so as to be linked with forward-drive solenoids, backward-drive solenoids, and pallet-drive shafts such that the respective pairs of feed pallets are disengaged and engaged with the ratchet wheels by operations of the solenoids to perform feeding operations using the pallet-drive shafts. Operation lever detecting switches are turned on by the magents at respective positions of the operation levers.

摘要： A printing apparatus of the type capable of printing on both sides of a paper supplied thereto is improved by enabling simple operation through the use of a single operating lever. Adjustment devices allow simple vertical and transversely adjustment of the plate cylinders with respect to the paper position. After printing is effected, the operating lever is shifted stepwise from the printing position to a starting position through intermediate positions wherein blanket cleaning and plate ejection functions are effected. Changeover between single and two-sided printing is easily effected by a simple switch operation.

摘要： A system for duplicating images wherein a copy sheet is delivered to a first gripper of an impression cylinder. A first image is transferred to one side of each sheet, and each sheet is then released by the first gripper and delivered to a reversing means. A second gripper includes means for engaging the trailing edge of each sheet and the sheets are thus re-fed to the impression cylinder by this second gripper, trailing edge first. The re-feeding is in synchronism with the second image whereby this second image is transferred to the opposite side of each sheet. The second gripper is provided with inverting means to accommodate the re-feeding. In addition, separate gripper means are provided on the second gripper for engaging the trailing edge of a succeeding sheet whereby the second gripper simultaneously engages the trailing edge of one sheet and the formerly trailing edge of a previously introduced sheet.
