    摘要: A tracking device includes an external member and an internal member rotatable relative to the external member. A motor is attached to the internal member and includes a rotor shaft attached to the external member. A pair of target sensors that sense a phenomenon such as a magnetic field, sound, light or RF radiation, provide input to a controller that controls rotation of the motor. Angular acceleration of the internal member will cause an equal and opposite angular acceleration of the external member and the tracking device will roll toward the target. The tracking device may hop by suddenly stopping the rotation of the internal member or by suddenly decreasing or increasing the acceleration of the motor or by inserting a linkage fixed to the external member into the rotation path of the internal member.

    摘要: A vehicular snow ski steering keel bar having a recessed surface portion extending at least partially along the length in the side surfaces of the bar. A lower side surface portion below the recessed surface portion includes lateral extensions extending beyond the recessed surface potion to collect and/or compact snow and/or material coming in contact with the steering keel bar. An upper side surface portion has lateral extensions that further direct snow into the recessed surface portion during turning and cornering of the bar. The cross-sectional shape of the bar includes a basic hourglass shape with curved and/or flat surfaces. Various cross-sectional shapes can be used along the length of the bar to fine-tune the turning characteristics of the steering keel bar. Different configurations or shapes can be utilized for the sides of the bar to vary the turning characteristics between left and right turns.

    摘要: A drive for a vehicle traversing rough terrain including first and second drive units and first and second pairs of tires. The first drive unit includes a first differential and axle. The second drive unit includes a second differential and axle. A secondary drive shaft synchronizes the second and first differentials. Each tire is divided into first and second segments. The center of the first segment is the rotational center of the tire so as to allow it to roll when in contact with the rough terrain. The first segment extends 240° and the second segment extends 120°. The radius of curvature of the second segment is greater than that of the first segment so as to allow it to be only slightly curved and almost flat, and as a result thereof, pointed areas are formed that bite into, and allow the second segment to grip, the rough terrain.

Each wheel has a circular rim which is interconnected to the hub by spokes.
