Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a screw conveyor for discharging solids from a solid/liquid waste stream is provided and comprises a cylindrically shaped screen segment including perforated screen segments and an inlet for receiving a stream including solid and liquid materials, the perforated portions configured to permit liquids and smaller materials to pass therethrough. The conveyor includes a rotor auger disposed within the screen segment and includes helical flights configured to move solid materials larger than perforations on the perforated screen to move vertically when rotated. A drive motor is included to rotate the rotor auger and anti-rotation elements are disposed radially outward between adjacent perforated screen segments and configured to prevent rotation of solid materials to permit the rotor auger to move the solid materials in an axial direction of the rotor auger rotation.

Abstract: Disclosed is a screw feeder (10) comprising a pipe (3) enclosing a feed screw 4 arranged on a rotatory shaft (5) running parallel with the length direction of the pipe (3), said pipe (3) further comprising a number of dewatering holes (6). The screw feeder (10) also comprises a number of anti-rotation bars (7) provided on, and extending along, the inside of said pipe (3), said anti-rotation bars (7) protruding in a direction towards said feed screw (4), and an inlet (1) for receiving a solid-liquid mixture arranged at a first end of said pipe (3), and an outlet (2) arranged at a second end of said pipe (3) for discharging an at least partially dewatered solid from said pipe (3). The pipe (3) includes at least one longitudinal pipe section (31) having a first peripheral zone (9) provided in the vertically lower area of said longitudinal pipe section (31) and provided with dewatering holes (6) but no anti-rotation bars (7) and a second peripheral zone (90) provided in the vertically upper area of said longitudinal pipe section (3) provided with anti-rotation bars (7), the overall pipe profile of said pipe section (31) is composed of two differently shaped pipe profiles, a first pipe profile (P1) and a second pipe profile (P2), said first pipe profile (P1) defining the shape of the first peripheral zone (9) and is a profile selected from a square shaped profile, a profile having a partly circular cross-section with a squashed end or a circle segment remove or a partly elliptically shaped profile, and the second pipe profile (P2) defining the shape of the second peripheral zone (90), where the shape of said first pipe profile (P) is selected to allow the outer edges of said feed screw (4) to remove material overlying said dewatering holes (6), and where the shape of said second pipe profile (P2) is selected so as to prohibit any contact between said outer edges of said feed screw (4) and the anti-rotation bars (7). Also disclosed is a pipe for use in such a screw feeder.

Abstract: A system for conveying pasty material through a conduit has an eccentric screw pump having a stator, a rotor that rotates in the stator, a housing with an intake port, and an output port connected to the conduit. A drive rotates the rotor and thereby draws the pasty material in through the intake port and expels the drawn-in material as a compressed-material strand into the conduit. A valve supplies gas pulses to the conduit at time intervals for separating the compressed-material strand into material plugs of limited length traveling through the conduit.

Abstract: A cantilevered screw assembly comprising a speed reducer to facilitate rotation of a screw. The speed reducer may be connected to a torque arm that is adapted to control or limit undesired movement (e.g., wobbling, orbital movement, etc.) of the screw during operation. In effect, one exemplary embodiment of a speed reducer may essentially float on a pivoting torque arm (and the shaft of the screw) such that the torque arm is adapted to limit undesired movement of the speed reducer and screw. As a result, an exemplary embodiment may eliminate the need for alternative drive systems or other means to control undesired movement of the screw. An exemplary embodiment may be particularly useful for light or infrequent duty or other small-scale applications to reduce the likelihood of a breakage of a screw or another portion of a cantilevered screw assembly (e.g., the bearing(s) or bearing assembly, the gears, etc.).

Abstract: Auger conveyors most commonly employed in industries where the horizontal and/or vertical transfer of solids or semi-solid materials is required. Auger conveyors employ a rotating helical screw blade, commonly known as fighting, which rotates about on an inline axis within an inline conduit. Described herein is an auger conveyor which does not need to follow the traditional rule of rotating about on an inline axis. A flexible wire rope shaft is employed to rotate about on an infinite number of axes thereby facilitating an auger conveyor connected to the flexible wire rope shaft through buttons, to traverse a non-linear path.
