摘要: An improved process for preparing anion exchange resins based on the use of a non-agitated plug-flow quench procedure followed by recycle of a portion of the recovered chloromethylation reaction fluids into subsequent chloromethylation reactions is disclosed. The combination of plug-flow hydration, providing highly concentrated recovered sulfuric acid, together with the recycle or reuse of the recovered concentrated sulfuric acid, allows for reduced raw material requirements during anion exchange resin manufacture and reduces the environmental impact of waste sulfuric acid processing.

摘要: An anion exchanger comprised of a fine particle having a cured polyethyleneimine surface layer formed on the fine particle surface. The cured polyethyleneimine surface layer is formed by the steps of: (1) dispersing a fine particle having a functional group capable of reacting with polyethyleneimine on the fine particle surface, in an aqueous solution of a crosslinking agent capable of crosslinking polyethyleneimine to prepare an aqueous dispersion of the fine particle; and then, (2) adding the polyethyleneimine and a catalyst for crosslinking the polyethyleneimine in the aqueous dispersion of the fine particle, and carrying a reaction of bonding the polyethyleneimine to the functional group on the fine particle surface and a reaction of crosslinking the polyethyleneimine with the crossslinking agent. The anion exchanger is used as a packing for chromatography.

摘要: The invention is directed to a process for modifying a water soluble polymer, said process comprising modifying a polymer containing amine groups, by reacting at least one of said amine groups with activated ester, said ester being the reaction product of a carboxyl activator and the carboxyl group of a molecule R—COOH, said R-group being a functional group, to produce a reaction mixture containing a polymer, said polymer containing at least one amide group; subjecting said reaction mixture to at least ion exchange chromatography to purify said reaction mixture, said purification comprising at least partly removing the said reaction product, and/or carboxyl activator.

摘要: A cation exchanger comprised of a fine particle having bound to the surface thereof a polymer having a cation exchanging property, wherein said polymer is selected from (i) polymers prepared by polymerization of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and partially crosslinked with a polymer having a functional group capable of reacting with a carboxylic acid, and (ii) an acrylic acid-maleic acid copolymer. The cation exchanger is produced by the steps of: dispersing fine particles in a solution containing (i) a combination of a polymer prepared by polymerization of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, with a polymer having a functional group capable of reacting with a carboxylic acid, or (ii) an acrylic acid-maleic acid copolymer, to prepare a dispersion of fine particles; removing a liquid medium from the particle dispersion to separate a solid content; and then, heating the solid content in a dried state. The cation exchanger is useful as a packing for chromatography.

摘要: A process for producing a polymeric actuator including an ion-exchange resin product and metal electrodes which are formed on the surface of the ion-exchange resin product is provided. The process involves repeatedly conducting the following steps (i) to (iii) to form the metal electrodes ranging from the surface of the ion-exchange resin product to the inside thereof: (i) a step of allowing the ion-exchange resin product to adsorb a metal complex (adsorption step), (ii) a step of reducing the metal complex adsorbed on the ion-exchange resin product by a reducing agent to deposit a metal on the surface of the ion-exchange resin product (deposition step), and (iii) a step of washing the ion-exchange resin product having the deposited metal (washing step). Through the above steps, a polymeric actuator having simple structure, capable of being easily miniaturized, showing quick response and capable of generating large displacement can be obtained.

摘要: A monomer-grafted cross-linked polymer is prepared by the steps of activating a polymer by radiation, quenching the activated polymer so as to effect cross-linking therein, activating the cross-linked polymer by irradiation and contacting the activated cross-linked polymer with an emulsion that includes an unsaturated monomer, an emulsifier and water. The activated cross-linked polymer is contacted with the emulsion for a sufficient time to effect a desired extent of grafting.
