A two-part adhesive systems exhibiting improved fixture and open times are disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes (a) an adhesive part being a mixture formed from (I) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (II) a metal molybdate, (III) a metal salt of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid in an amount less than 3 weight percent, and (IV) an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and (b) an activator part which includes a free radical generator. In another embodiment, the system includes the above-described adhesive part substantially free of a metal salt of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid. Curable adhesives and laminates prepared with the two-part system are also disclosed.

A thermoplastic molding composition comprising a graft polymer is disclosed. The graft polymer contains: a) a continuous phase containing the polymerized product of at least one vinylaromatic monomer and at least one ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer, and b) a disperse phase containing ethylene/null-olefin rubber that is grafted with the polymerization product of at least one vinylaromatic monomer and at least one ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer. The weight average molecular weight of the continuous phase is 130,000 to 275,000 g/mole and the disperse phase is characterized in that its, weight average particle size is less than 0.90 nullm. The molding composition is characterized in improved resistance to weathering.

The cyclodextrin compound, locked into the polymer structure, can absorb impurities, permeants, or other undesirable volatile materials. The cooperation between the cyclodextrin grafted onto the thermoplastic polymer and the polymer structure can provide barrier properties to a film, web or other polymer structure. A permeant or a contaminant can be complexed or trapped within the polymer and held within the film or Web preventing the permeant or contaminant from passing into the interior of a container or enclosure.

The present invention provides polymerization catalyst compounds, catalyst systems including these catalyst compounds, and to their use in the polymerization of ethylene and at least one comonomer. In particular, the invention relates to identifying the comonomer incorporation behavior of metallocene polymerization catalyst compounds. More particularly, the invention relates to identifying metallocene catalyst compounds which incorporate comonomer poorly. Preferably, such metallocene catalyst compounds contain at least one substituted or unsubstituted fused ring cyclopentadienyl based ligand. The invention also relates to the use of these low comonomer incorporating metallocene catalyst compounds in catalyst systems to produce polymers that are easy to process into a variety of articles, especially polyethylene based film, having enhanced properties.

The present invention provides a polyolefin-based resin composition, comprising (A) a polyolefin I produced from at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of null-olefins, cyclic olefins and styrenes; (B) a polyolefin II produced from said at least one monomer, which differs in composition or properties from said polyolefin I; and (C) a graft copolymer produced by bonding said polyolefins I and II to each other through a polyene, wherein (a) a ratio null(1/R1)/(1/R1)0null of a relaxation velocity (1/R1) of a long-term relaxation component measured by a solid 1H-NMR method about the composition to a relaxation velocity (1/R1)0 of a long-term relaxation component measured by a solid 1H-NMR method about a resin mixture of only the components (A) and (B) is 1.01 or higher; and (b) an intrinsic viscosity nullnullnull of the composition is in the range of 0.1 to 10 deciliter/g as measured in decalin at 135null C. The resin composition is readily controlled in property-determining factors such as morphology and interfacial strength, and is capable of providing a composite material composed of polyolefin-based resins according to properties as required.

A polyolefin resin blend is presented that includes a base component of a semi-crystalline polyolefin component, a propylene-based polyolefin-metal salt, and a styrenic block ionomer. Optionally, the blend includes a thermoplastic elastomer, such as a hydrogenated styrene-butadiene random copolymer. Such blends have enhanced scratch and mar resistance while still retaining acceptable impact toughness. Methods of preparing such blends, as well as resultant articles including such blends, are also part of the invention.

The polyolefin resin composition of the present invention includes 100 parts by weight polypropylene, 5 to 45 parts by weight inorganic filler, and 2 to 20 parts by weight silicon-grafted polyethylene. The polyolefin resin composition of the present invention is useful as a material of construction for various kinds of housings for electronic appliances and automobile parts since the resin exhibits better scratch resistance, resin fluidity, and moldability than prior art polyolefin resin compositions while maintaining mechanical properties.
