摘要: An improved hydrotreating catalyst and process for making a base oil product wherein the catalyst comprises a base extrudate that includes a high nanopore volume amorphous silica alumina (ASA) and a second amorphous silica alumina. The catalyst and process generally involve the use of a base extrudate comprising the high nanopore volume ASA and the second ASA in a catalyst to produce hydrotreated dewaxed base oil products by contacting the catalyst with a hydrocarbon feedstock. The catalyst base extrudate advantageously comprises a first amorphous silica alumina having a pore volume in the 11-20 nm pore diameter range of 0.2 to 1.0 cc/g and a second amorphous silica alumina having a pore volume in the 11-20 nm pore diameter range of 0.02 to 0.2 cc/g, with the base extrudate formed from the amorphous silica alumina and the alumina having a total pore volume in the 2-50 nm pore diameter range of 0.12 to 1.80 cc/g. The catalyst further comprises at least one modifier element from Groups 6 to 10 and Group 14 of the Periodic Table. The catalyst and process provide improved aromatics saturation.

This invention allows for, but is not limited to, the economical and efficient production high quality diesel type fuels from small or distributed fuel production plants that have an annual production capacity of less than 10,000 barrels of product per day, by eliminating traditional wax upgrading processes. This catalytic process is ideal for distributed diesel fuel production plants such as gas to liquids production and other applications that require optimized economics based on supporting distributed feedstock resources.

摘要: A process for producing benzene comprising the steps of:(a) separating a source feedstream comprising C5-C12 hydrocarbons including benzene and alkylbenzenes into a first feedstream comprising a higher proportion of benzene than the source feedstream and a second feedstream comprising a lower proportion of benzene than the source feedstream and subsequently, (b) contacting the first feedstream in the presence of hydrogen with a first hydrocracking catalyst, and (c) contacting the second feedstream with hydrogen under second process conditions to produce a second product stream comprising benzene, wherein i) the second process conditions are suitable for hydrocracking and step (c) involves contacting the second feedstream in the presence of hydrogen with a second hydrocracking catalyst, ii) the second process conditions are suitable for toluene disproportionation and involve contacting the second feedstream with a toluene disproportionation catalyst or iii) the second process conditions are suitable for hydrodealkylation.

摘要: Methods are provided for making base metal catalysts with improved activity. After forming catalyst particles based on a support comprising a zeolitic molecular sieve, the catalyst particles can be impregnated with a solution comprising a) metal salts (or other precursors) for a plurality of base metals and b) an organic dispersion agent comprising 2 to 10 carbons. The impregnated support particles can be dried to form a base metal catalyst, and then optionally sulfided to form a sulfided base metal catalyst. The resulting (sulfided) base metal catalyst can have improved activity for cloud point reduction and/or for improved activity for heteroatom removal, relative to a base metal dewaxing catalyst prepared without the use of a dispersion agent.
