摘要: This invention relates to portable cooking stoves and in particular, to lightweight, flat-packable stoves that are easily deployed into the cooking arrangement and that have an integrated cooking chamber. The integrated food chamber should be capable of holding sufficient water to be boiled for a drink, or to heat sufficient food to provide for a hot meal for one person. The cooking stoves of the present invention are intended primarily for outdoor leisure pursuits such as backpacking, hiking and camping, as well as serving humanitarian and military dismounted soldier needs.

摘要: A method and a plant for processing problematic, organic, chemical wastes for the disposal thereof. The different types of waste are collected in separate portions and the liquid waste portions are pooled, and the resulting liquid mixture is left to separate into a number of fractions. Each viscous or solid waste portions is subjected to a compatibility test with a liquid fraction. The waste portions are admixed with an amount of a compatible liquid fraction, ensuring that a workable mixture is obtained. The different mixtures are gradually mixed and a mixed and workable buffer portion is obtained. The buffer portion or a portion thereof is subjected to grinding at a high shear. A pumpable, combustible dispersion is obtained, which can be incinerated without any risk of explosions.

摘要: Organic liquids can be very effectively gelled by using in combination with an amine neutralized anionic polymer an auxiliary rheological additive. The auxiliary rheological additive is a substance which increases the linearity of the anionic polymer and its thixotropic properties. Suitable auxiliary rheological additives are amphoteric oxides and/or fatty acids and/or fatty acid salts. The organic liquids that can be effectively gelled are organic solvents which include fuels such as hydrocarbons and alcohols.

摘要: Thickened or gelled compositions comprising an organic liquid, a crosslinked copolymer of an acrylic acid, a vinyl ester of trialkylacetic acids with highly branched structure containing up to 10 carbon atoms, a neutralizing base and, optionally, water are disclosed together with a method for their preparation. These compositions have high stability and are viscoelastic and can be used, for example, in cosmetics, detergents, or as fuels for domestic use or for transportable stoves.

摘要: This invention involves a process for improving the energy and ignitability of a metal slurry gel rocket fuel by the use of an energetic metal compound of higher energy than the parent metal. An energetic metal compound is added slowly to a liquid rocket fuel with appropriate stirring to form a suspension of the metallic compound in the liquid fuel. To this is added a small quantity of a gelling agent, such as silicon dioxide, with stirring, to form an energetic metal fuel gel. The energetic metal compound is prepared by using a high purity metal in the form of a wire. As an example, a sample of aluminum wire weighing 2.26 grams is supplied with an external source of high voltage and amperes, while the wire is in an environment of an inert gas (e.g., argon) under about 40 atmospheres pressure, to achieve electrical explosion of the wire. The product produced is a fine, gray, non-conductive powder in high yield. This powder contains aluminum and argon. This powder can be used to replace the aluminum of a prior art thixotropic fuel gel to obtain a thixotropic fuel gel with an improved performance with higher energy.

摘要: Waste sludge that contains water, solids and oil, is mixed with a filter aid that has filter aid characteristics and a heating value of at least 1,000 Btu/lb. The admixture obtained is subjected to filtration yielding a high-Btu combustible material, useful as fuel. This combustible material, optionally after drying to remove water, is very suitable for use as fuel in a cement kiln.
