    摘要: There is provided an aluminium shaped object with an oxidised surface, characterised by an elastic aluminium oxide surface layer with a thickness of between 1 and 20 Mu m, preferably of 2 to 10 Mu m, with a spongy structure of granular structural elements having an average diameter of between 1 and 10 Mu m, preferably of 3 to 8 Mu m. There is also provided a process for the production of an aluminium shaped object with an oxidised surface by anodic oxidation in an electrolyte, wherein the surface of an aluminium shaped object is contacted in a weakly acidic to weakly alkaline bath by sparkovers at a high voltage and very high current density.

    摘要: A method of anodizing aluminum and its alloys utilizing a suitable anodizing electrolyte and a pulsed direct current. The direct current used provides a substantially constant anodizing current interspersed with at least six pulses per second of higher, smoothly peaked, direct current. It has been found that the greater the number of pulses per second, the more superior the anodic coating obtained. The electrolyte used can be sulfuric acid (125 to 300 grams of sulfuric acid per liter of water) preferably containing a 0.1 to 0.2 grams per liter of sodium lignosulfonate or other such sulfonated organic compound as a stabilizer. A mixture of sulfosalicylic acid and sulfuric acid or a mixture of sulfuric and oxalic acid can be used.

    摘要: An integral colored anodic oxide film free from irregular patterns of metal flow, seams and cold shuts can be formed on die castings by subjecting the surface of pressure die castings of an aluminum alloy comprising 0.1 - 1.3 percent by weight of chromium, 0.2 - 3.4 percent by weight of manganese, said chromium and manganese being present in the amounts which are within the area of quadrilateral ABCD shown in the FIGURE, up to 0.3 percent by weight of impurities and the balance of aluminum, to roughening and brightening treatments, and thereafter subjecting thus treated products to anodizing treatment. Mechanical strength and castability of the alloy is further improved by addition of cobalt or zinc.

    摘要: Strength of metal foams is enhanced by anodizing. The strength increase may not be immediately apparent, but may require aging. Anodization is preferably carried out by applying voltage across a cathode (in contact with the electrolytic bath) and the foam anode and then immersing the anode in the bath. Improved results are also obtained if surfaces not to be anodized are not contacted with the electrolytic bath. The electrolyte can optionally contain a fluorine acid such as HF and HBF4. These tend to make the foam less porous. Preferred foams are made of aluminum base metals.
