Abstract: A manufacturing method of an aluminum-based article having multi-angle visual color change characteristics is provided. The manufacturing method includes the steps of providing an aluminum-based article and performing a first anodizing treatment that at least includes cycling a first operation mode 50 times to 80 times on the aluminum-based article. The first operation mode includes a first constant-current density stage followed by a current density continuous-increasing stage. In the first constant-current density stage, a first current density is controlled to be constant in a range from 0.1 A/dm2 to 1.0 A/dm2 for 60 seconds to 120 seconds. In the current density continuous-increasing stage, the first current density is controlled to continuously increase by 5 to 10 increments, and each of the increments is in a range from 0.1 A/dm2 to 0.5 A/dm2 and within a time period from 3 seconds to 10 seconds.

Abstract: A surface treatment process for a metal article provides a uniform and unblemished surface finish to the metal article. The surface treatment process anodizes the metal article to form an anodic oxide layer on a surface, and the metal article is activated using a pre-dyeing solution. The anodic oxide layer of the metal article is dyed for color and the dyed anodic oxide layer of the metal article is finally sealed.

Abstract: A method of coating a metal article is disclosed that includes immersing a metal article having an exterior anodized layer in a bath containing a chemically active corrosion inhibitor, and applying a voltage to the article during the immersing, the voltage driving the chemically active corrosion inhibitor from the bath into the exterior anodized layer. An article is also disclosed that has a substrate comprising a metal, and a porous anodized layer formed on an exterior surface of the substrate that is infiltrated with a chemically active corrosion inhibitor, the anodized layer having an inward-facing region and an outward-facing region, the anodized layer having a greater concentration of chemically active corrosion inhibitors in the inward-facing region than in the outward-facing region.
