    摘要: A paper material has been invented that contains cellulose substituted by means of N-methylol compounds. As N-methylol compounds may be used, e.g., reaction products of urea, glyoxal, and formaldehyde, methylolated melamines, and N-methylol-acrylamide copolymers. The paper is manufactured best by impregnating paper with an aqueous solution or dispersion of a N-methylol compound and by drying it at 130.degree. to 200.degree. C. in order to produce condensation. Papers in accordance with the invention have good properties of strength against decomposition and wet strength, which properties can be adjusted readily by varying the degree of substitution or cross-linking of the cellulose. The papers are particularly well suitable, e.g., for the manufacture of plant-growing pots and corrugated fibreboard.

    摘要: Curable amino resins are prepared from a system having two components, each of which remains storage stable for extended periods of time. The two components are drawn from separate storage vessels and combined in an in-line mixer immediately prior to the point of use. The system reduces mixing costs and provides greater control over changes in viscosity, precipitation and resin particle size occurring during the mixing process. The resins are used as adhesives (binders) for wood fiber, particles and chips, as well as for paper products and plywood materials.

    摘要: A WATER-SOLUBLE, CATIONIC, THERMOSETTING, POLYUREIDEFORMALDEHYDE RESIN CONDENSATE IS FORMED BY REACTING A POLYALKYLENE POLYAMINE WITH A UREA TO FORM A POLYUREIDE INTERMEDIATE, THEN QUENCHING THE POLYUREIDE-FORMING REACTION WITH AN ORGANIC HYDROXYL-CONTAINING COMPOUND, AND THEN FINALLY REACTING THE QUENCHED POLYUREIDE INTERMEDIATE WITH FORMALDEHYDE TO FORM THE WATER SOLUBLE, CATIONIC, THEREMOSETTING RESIN PRODUCT. THE PRODUCT IS USEFUL AS A WET-STRENGTH ADDITIVE IN PAPER AND AS THE RESIN COMPONENT IN AQUEOUS PRINTING FLUIDS WHICH ARE, IN TURN, USEFUL IN THE HIGH SPEED PRINTING OR DECORATING OF ABSORBENT PAPERS.
