摘要: Disclosed is a cover for a utility vault and a method for making such covers. The cover is formed from fiberglass reinforcement layers and a polymer mix matrix. The reinforcement layers include a bottom reinforcement layer, one or more edge reinforcement layers, and a top reinforcement layer. A first portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the bottom reinforcement layer and a second portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the top reinforcement layer. The reinforcement layers are formed from fiberglass fabric and may include fiberglass layers whose fibers are oriented quadraxially. The polymer mix impregnates the fabric layers and forms the bulk of the cover. The polymer matrix bonds the reinforcement layers so that forces applied across the top and bottom layers are communicated to the edge reinforcement layer. The polymer matrix includes a thermoset polymer resin and an expanded glass bead filler.

摘要: A low-profile mine roof support device comprises a roof plate and a barrel. The roof plate is generally flat and defines a through-bore. The barrel includes a head disposed at a first end, and a cylindrical body disposed at a second end. A tapered bore extends from the first end of the barrel toward the second end, and is for receiving a cable. At least one wedge is adapted to be received within the tapered bore of the barrel to anchor the cable thereto. The head of the barrel comprises a convex surface that seats against the plate such that a portion of the head penetrates the bore and intersects the first and second planes, thereby reducing the extent to which the support device extends into the mine without sacrificing the working length of the barrel.

摘要: A method of forming tunnels(6), and tunnels formed thereby, said tunnels in one embodiment being of a form to carry transport routes (1) such as rail and road transport therealong. The method allows the tunnel to be formed from one or more access points (2) by allowing the tunnel structure (6) to be progressively extended out from the tunnel by advancing deck structures (24) along guide means (20) which are formed as part of a base structure (18). The deck structures (24) can also be used to support excavation equipment (28) and/or act as transport routes for access to the leading edge of the tunnel as it is formed. This greatly reduces the need for separate access and works to be provided adjacent to the tunnel as it is formed and therefore reduces the level of reinstatement works required after the tunnel has been formed.

摘要: A low-profile mine roof support device comprises a roof plate and a barrel. The barrel includes a nose portion, a shoulder portion, and a tapered bore for receiving a cable to secure the roof plate to the mine roof. The shoulder portion of the barrel comprises a convex surface that seats against the plate. So configured, a majority of the barrel, which includes the nose portion and the tapered bore, passes through the plate and into a drilled hole formed in the mine roof, thereby advantageously minimizing the extent to which the support device extends into the workspace of the mine without sacrificing the length of the barrel.

摘要: The present invention is provided to shorten a period of underground frame construction in top-down construction method, and more specifically, provides a construction method for alternately constructing underground vertical members downward to lower levels and then constructing remaining vertical members during the same time period after mat and foundation construction, thus making it possible to shorten a construction period of the vertical members and an overall construction period. The method includes a first step of installing the earth retaining wall, constructing the underground pillar post, excavating the first underground level, and constructing the first above-ground level floor; a second step of first constructing the core part of one underground level while constructing the underground level slab downward to support the above-ground level core part which is constructed upward; a third step of alternately constructing an underground vertical member downward; and a step of constructing remaining underground vertical members during the same time period after the construction of the lowest level mat or the foundation, in which the construction period of the underground vertical member is shortened, and thereby the above-ground frame and finishing construction can be started early and an overall construction period is shortened.
