    摘要: A well completion system and method for preventing sand production into a well casing (38) having a perforated interval (42) is disclosed. The system comprises a sand control screen (40) having expandable end sections (60, 62) each of which having an attachment member (72, 74) positioned exteriorly therearound. An expander tool (44) is operably disposed within the sand control screen (40) such that when the sand control screen (40) is positioned within the well casing (38) across the perforated interval (42), the expander tool (44) radially expands the end sections (60, 62) such that the attachment members (72, 74) are placed in contact with the interior of the well casing (38), thereby creating a fluid seal and a friction grip between the end sections (60, 62) and the well casing (38).

    摘要: A wellbore casing formed by extruding a tubular liner off of a mandrel. The tubular liner and mandrel are positioned within a new section of a wellbore with the tubular liner in an overlapping relationship with an existing casing. A hardenable fluidic material is injected into the new section of the wellbore below the level of the mandrel and into the annular region between the tubular liner and the new section of the wellbore. The inner and outer regions of the tubular liner are then fluidicly isolated. A non hardenable fluidic material is then injected into a portion of an interior region of the tubular liner to pressurize the portion of the interior region of the tubular liner below the mandrel. The tubular liner is then extruded off of the mandrel.

    摘要: A liner for an annular downhole component is comprised of an expandable metal tube having indentations along its surface. The indentations are formed in the wall of the tube either by drawing the tube through a die, by hydroforming, by stamping, or roll forming and may extend axially, radially, or spirally along its wall. The indentations accommodate radial and axial expansion of the tube within the downhole component. The tube is inserted into the annular component and deformed to match an inside surface of the component. The tube may be expanded using a hydroforming process or by drawing a mandrel through the tube. The tube may be expanded in such a manner so as to place it in compression against the inside wall of the component. The tube is useful for improving component hydraulics, shielding components from contamination, inhibiting corrosion, and preventing wear to the downhole component during use. It may also be useful for positioning conduit and insulated conductors within the component. An insulating material may be disposed between the tube and the component in order to prevent galvanic corrosion of the downhole component.

    摘要: The present invention includes a method and apparatus for setting a liner in a wellbore and then expanding a screen in the wellbore in a single trip. In one aspect of the invention, a liner and expandable screen is provided with a slip assembly to fix the liner in the wellbore. An expansion tool and work sting is run into the wellbore in the liner. After the liner is set, the expansion tool is used to expand the screen. In another embodiment, an annular area between the expansion tool and work string is utilized in order to set the slips. Thereafter, cup packers used in forming the annulus are lifted from the liner prior to expanding the screen.
