    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method and apparatus for safety protection control of temporary roof support. In one embodiment, a temporary roof support has a load sensing member. In another embodiment, a beam structure of temporary roof support is supported by a load sensing pin. Strain gages are installed within the pin to measure the load placed upon the pin. An unusually high load being sensed by the pin indicates that the roof has fractured and the temporary roof support is supporting loose rock. In one embodiment, when an unusually high load is measured at the pin, the temporary roof support controls at the front of the machine are disabled. A second set of remotely located temporary roof support controls remain operative. In one embodiment, the second set of controls is located at the rear of the machine.

    摘要: A drive shield for tunnel driving has a plurality of cutters supported for longitudinal displacement on a frame. The cutters are hollow and contain double-acting hydraulic rams used to displace the cutters and the frame. The rams are linked to the cutters via alignable connector shackles and detachable bolts. To connect the rams to the frame use is made of coupling pieces which have spigots engaging through shackles on the rams. The coupling pieces pass through slots in the cutters and are guided on the frame for displacement to release or mate the spigots with the shackles.

    摘要: The device for provisionally supporting a gallery or a tunnel which definitely shall be supported by support frames closed on all sides comprises a floor girder which servs as a part of the provisional frame as well as of the definite one. For the provisional support said floor girders are laid out separately near the mining face. Only U-shaped elements which are reduceable in profile are to be brought forward through the inner width of the positioned frames. These U-shaped elements may be connected with the said floor girders to form a complete provisional supporting frame closed on all sides. Such provisional support fulfills absolutely the safety requirements, and setting the definite frames may be carried out quickly and without long lasting interruptions of biasing the roof because the provisional floor girders remain usable as floor girders for the definite supporting frames, too.

    摘要: There is provided a method and apparatus for supporting the wall of an upwardly excavated shaft. Cylindrical support frames which are successively thrust up through the shaft are respectively composed of several arcuate members and one or more disjointing members. A plurality of top supporting plates are provided on the top of the series of the cylindrical frames and are designed to fall inwardly toward the center of the shaft after the excavation of the shaft is terminated, thus constructing an umbrella like device for supporting the roof of the shaft.

    摘要: A drive shield for driving wide underground cavities comprises a plurality of knife shields arranged side-by-side transversely of the direction of advance. Each knife shield has a plurality of elongate knives displaceably mounted on a respective support frame. The elongate knives are advanceable relative to their support frame by means of hydraulic rams mounted on that support frame. The support frames of each pair of adjacent knife shields are linked by connecting means such as double-acting hydraulic rams, which permit one of the support frames to be advanced relative to the other.

An over-center hinge interconnects the side walls to brace the side walls in the normal use condition of the cage and can be selectively released from a location above the cage by a pull-cable to allow the pivotal side wall to be swung inwardly after a cave-in, enabling easy lifting removal of the cage.

    摘要: This invention relates to a corrugated steel arch gangway system used in a method of mining an underground ore body. Commencing at the bottom of the ore body, successive horizontal cuts or layers are excavated, processed and backfilled with tailings from the processing. An arch shaped longitudinal horizontal portion of the gangway system is erected on the floor of the first lower cut and a plurality of first and second hollow extendible upward extending vertical portions are connected thereto by transverse horizontal portions. The horizontal portion of the gangway system is covered by a layer of backfill and then the first vertical portions or manways provide access from the horizontal portion to successive upward adjacent cuts which are mined and the ore is removed through the second vertical portions or millholes to a railway operating in the horizontal portion of the gangway system. As each cut is excavated, it is backfilled by a cemented hydraulic backfill following extension of the vertical portions. The longitudinal horizontal portion of the gangway system is constructed of a plurality of overlapping arch shaped sections, each of which is formed of a flat based member and first and second curved wall members. The members and the sections are initially positioned by being bolted together, and then securely connected by a plurality of self-drilling screws spaced along the joints.
