    摘要: This invention is a piston in cylinder engine using water injection into a relative vacuum heated to steam by expanding in the cylinder and by an electric arc or other heat source. The resulting steam explosion applies a work force on the piston. The piston has jet nozzles uncovered at the end of its work stroke to jet the piston to help propel it during the return stroke and to form a vacuum in place of the usual compression stroke. The piston has a cover plate with tapered pins depending into jet nozzles through the piston to block the jet nozzles during the main work stroke.

    摘要: A rotary steam engine of a simple constitution capable of efficiently obtaining mechanical energy not only from a heat source of a high temperature but also from various heat sources in a low-temperature state such as the exhaust heat of an internal combustion engine. The engine has a rotor 1 having a plurality of displacement chambers 11 provided in a sealed container 2 which is filled with a liquid. A steam-generating portion 4 is arranged under the rotor 1 and where the liquid vaporizes being heated by the exhaust heat of an internal combustion engine. The vaporized stem is jetted from a flow-out passage 42 toward the displacement chambers 11 of the rotor 1. The steam stays in the displacement chambers 11 and, therefore, buoyancy acts onto the displacement chambers 11 on one side of the rotor 1. The rotor 1 rotates to produce the rotational energy. The steam in the displacement chambers 11 is released in the sealed container 2 accompanying the rotation of the rotor 1, and is introduced into a condenser 3 where the steam is condensed and refluxes into the sealed container 2. The pressure in the sealed container 2 is maintained to be a saturated steam pressure by a vacuum pump 34. Therefore, the steam is formed despite the liquid has a low temperature to rotate the rotor 1.

    摘要: A stem engine has a fluid container, a heating device and a cooling device. The fluid container has an outer pipe having an upper closed end, and an inner pipe provided in the outer pipe and having a fluid inlet port through which the inside of the inner pipe is operatively communicated with the outside of the inner pipe. The inner pipe has a pressure control device at its lower end, and a fluid injection port at its upper end for injecting the working fluid in the inner pipe into a space defined between the inner pipe and the outer pipe, when the pressure in the inner pipe is increased. The working fluid injected into the space between the inner and outer pipes is heated and vaporized by the heating device, so that volumetric expansion of the working fluid takes place to increase fluid pressure in the fluid container. The vaporized steam is then cooled and liquidized by the cooling device and thereby the volumetric contraction takes place, so that the fluid pressure is decreased. By repeating the above volumetric expansion and contraction of the working fluid, the pressure change is given to the working fluid in the fluid container.

    摘要: A steam engine has a pipe shaped fluid container, a heating and cooling devices respectively provided at a heating and cooling portions of the fluid container, and an output device connected to the fluid container, so that the output device is operated by the fluid pressure change in the fluid container, to generate an electric power. In such a steam engine, the fluid pressure in the fluid container is adjusted such that the fluid pressure does not exceed a saturated vapor pressure at the operating temperature. As a result, unnecessary condensation and liquefaction of the steam due to the increased pressure higher than the saturated vapor pressure can be prevented, to improve performance of the steam engine.

    摘要: A steam engine has a fluid container, a heating device and a cooling device provided at the fluid container for heating and cooling working fluid filled in the fluid container, so that a part of the working fluid is heated and vaporized to move the liquid-phase working fluid in one direction. When the vaporized steam is cooled and liquidized, the pressure of the working fluid in the fluid container is decreased, to thereby move the liquid-phase working fluid in the backward direction. Kinetic energy is thereby generated by using the back and forth movement of the working fluid. The heating device has multiple through-holes, through which the working fluid flows and heated by a heating surface (an inner surface of the through-holes) of the heating device, wherein a diameter “d” of the through-hole is made almost equal to or smaller than a depth of heat penetration “δ”, which is determined by the following formula: δ=√{square root over (2a/ω)} wherein “a” is a heat diffusivity of the working fluid, and “ω” is an angular frequency of the working fluid during the working fluid is periodically moved back and forth.
