The system includes a fuel supply system that is in fluid communication with a fuel supply. The fuel supply system includes multiple fuel circuits. Each fuel circuit individually feeds fuel to a corresponding fuel distribution manifold. The system further includes a steam injection system. The steam injection system includes at least one flow control valve that is in fluid communication with at least one of the fuel circuits. The flow control valve provides for fluid communication between a superheated steam source and the fuel circuit during both fueled operation and during non-fueled operation of the corresponding fuel circuit.

    摘要: At least one solid mass of oxidizing-species-releasing material (ORM), selected as a solid oxidizer (SO), and/or as oxidizing-species-releasing burning substance (ORBS) is used as a device for enhancing the starting process of a turbine engine under various ambient conditions. The ORM is introduced into the combustion chamber of the turbine engine and the starting process of the turbine engine is initiated, by help of the igniter and in association with the ORM to enhance the starting process. In operation, an ORM selected as an SO releases gaseous oxygen when heated to decompose, while an ORM chosen as an ORBS discharges oxidizing species when ignited to burn. An ORM such as an SO or an ORBS may operate alone or in various combinations of both. The ORM is configured to release a predetermined mass flow rate of oxidizing species or of gaseous oxygen.

The at least one combustor assembly is coupled to the combustor section to define with the combustor section a combustor apparatus. The turbine assembly is located in the turbine section to define with the turbine section a turbine apparatus. The duct structure is coupled to the intermediate section to receive at least a portion of the compressed air from the compressor apparatus through the at least one first opening in the intermediate section, pass the compressed air to an apparatus for separating a portion of oxygen from the compressed air to produced vitiated compressed air and return the vitiated compressed air to the intermediate section via the at least one second opening in the intermediate section.

The inlet duct is connected between a gas discharge channel in the furnace section and a gas inlet channel in the filter. The inlet duct includes a first gas duct, a second gas duct, a first branch, connecting the gas discharge channel in the furnace section with the first and second gas ducts, for dividing the flow of gases from the furnace section into a first gas flow and a second gas flow, a second branch, connecting the first and second gas ducts with the gas inlet channel in the filter, for recombining the first and second gas flows and a gas cooler in the second gas duct for decreasing temperature of the second gas flow.

    摘要: A high efficiency economical coal fired combined cycle power generation system and process is described. The system utilizes a circulating fluid bed ("CFB") coal devolatilizer which is fluidized with recycled coal volatiles. The devolatilizer is heated indirectly with hot bed material from a conventional CFB boiler burning the devolatilized coal (char). The CFB boiler is fluidized by gas turbine exhaust gas. The ratio of high efficiency/low capital cost Brayton cycle (gas turbine) power output to lower efficiency, higher capital cost Rankine cycle (steam turbine) power output is maximized by concurrently and/or successively preheating the gas turbine compressor discharge with; (1) gas turbine exhaust (recuperator), (2) hot coal volatiles exiting the devolatilizer, (3) coal char CFB boiler hot bed material (with either an external or internal heat exchanger), and (4) CFB boiler flue gas. The process and method described produces a thermally cracked, clean product gas with a high Btu content (.about.500 BTU/SCF) and is, therefore, readily usable in gas turbines which are designed for natural gas without design modification. This high Btu product gas also reduces fuel gas cleaning volume and fuel gas sensible heat loss.

    摘要: A process for enhancing the fuel form, raising the energy content, and lowering the level of impurities of low rank coals and/or carbonaceous wastes, like Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), and sewage sludge, by providing the low rank fuel, carbonaceous waste, or mixtures thereof as a slurry in water of processable viscosity. This feed slurry is heated under pressure, usually in the presence of an alkali, to a temperature at which a significant physical and molecular rearrangement occurs, characterized by the splitting off of a substantial proportion of the oxygen bound in the low rank coal or carbonaceous waste as carbon dioxide. At these conditions, solid particles in the feed slurry lose much of their fibrous and hydrophilic character, and are broken up into smaller particles of char, resulting in a slurry of dramatically improved rheology, i.e., capable of a much higher solids concentration (or energy density) at processable viscosity. Simultaneously, cation and anion impurities, like sodium, potassium, chlorine, sulfur, nitrogen, toxic metals, and others, are significantly reduced in the resulting product char slurry fuel.

The apparatus includes a plurality of pressure vessel extraction ports and associated conduits for introducing compressor discharge air into a first manifold common to the plurality of combustors; a dilution air control valve located between each extraction port and the first manifold; and a second, annular manifold surrounding the flow shield and including feed tubes connecting the second manifold to each of the dilution air feed holes in the combustion liner.

The ash extracting device 92 removes the ash in the combustion gases 75 before the combustion gases 75 enter the turbine 116. The highly pressurized combustion gases 75 enter the turbine 116 where they expand to produce work and cause the blades of the turbine 116 to rotate. The turbine 116 drives an electric generator which is linked to a power transmission line through any suitable switching gear.
