摘要: A cooking appliance may employ one or both of a post-preheat phase and a two stage preheat phase to both accelerate preheating of an oven cavity while minimizing temperature differentials therein. A post-preheat phase may be performed subsequent to a preheat phase, but prior to a cooking phase, to cycle a cooking element disposed in a cooler portion of an oven cavity to reduce a temperature differential between the top and bottom of the oven cavity. A two stage preheat phase may sequentially activate each of top and bottom cooking elements in an oven cavity a single time.

摘要: The present invention comprises a precision cooking oven that utilizes laser sheets to cook food, thus creating homogeneously heated and uniformly seared food bodies and surfaces. Laser sheets move back and forth evenly injecting heat into items being cooked. All food cold or hot areas can be eliminated since intersecting laser lines can be completely projected on and accommodate an item's exterior surfaces. Items with non-uniform cross-sections and properties can be cooked uniformly by controlling the exact amount of energy projected into differing sections of the food. The oven is also capable of cooking autonomously. Since laser sheets can be precisely controlled, cooking results can be very predictable once the boundary conditions for a thermal analysis are determined. The oven can detect the properties of the items to be cooked and thereafter compute the needed time and power to achieve the desired results stipulated by an oven operator.

摘要: A cooling system for an oven appliance is provided. The oven appliance includes an insulated chamber positioned within a cabinet such that a plurality of air flow passageways are defined therebetween. A control panel is positioned at a top, front of the oven appliance and defines an electronics chamber which is in fluid communication with a side air flow passageway. An exhaust duct is positioned between the insulated chamber and the cabinet and is placed in fluid communication with the electronics chamber. An exhaust fan is positioned within the duct and is configured for drawing cooling air through the side air flow passageway, into the electronics chamber, and through the exhaust duct to an outlet where it is exhausted from the oven appliance.

摘要: A combustion cooker with an integrated and optionally removable thermoelectric generator and methods for making and using the same. The combustion cooker can include a fire basket that comprises a bottom region and a lateral region that is coupled with the bottom region and that defines a central combustion chamber. Being disposed about a periphery of the fire basket, the thermoelectric generator can include a cold side heat sink and a hot side heat sink. The cold side heat sink can be cooled via exterior air available outside the housing; whereas, the hot side heat sink can be in direct thermal communication with the periphery of the fire basket. Thereby, the thermoelectric generator advantageously can generate electrical power based upon a thermal differential between the cold side heat sink and the hot side heat sink.

The conduit system conducts the second heating fluid through the header and first heating fluid, whereby heat from the first heating fluid is transferred to the second heating fluid. The conduit system conducts the second heating fluid to the point of use. The apparatus may be used in a hydronic boiler heating system for heating a dwelling.

摘要: A grilling device includes an oven section having an outer wall with opposing side portions and an encircling body portion extending therebetween. The body portion has an access opening and the grilling device includes a lid that selectively covers the access opening by means of a handle attached thereto. The grilling device also includes opposing hinge elements connected to opposite sides of the lid and to the side portions of the outer wall, as opposed to the encircling body portion. In particular, the hinge elements are connected to respective rear areas of the side portions. Accordingly, the path of opening the lid has a different shape or curvature and thereby positions the handle substantially lower than if the hinge elements were connected to the body portion adjacent to the access opening. The opposing side portions have a substantially oval shape and the hinge elements have an elongated configuration.

摘要: An endothermic heat pump water heater has a water tank supported atop a hollow base, a heat pump circuit operable to provide primary heat to water in the tank, and an electric resistance heating element operable to provide secondary heat to the water. The heat pump circuit includes refrigerant tubing in which a compressor disposed within the base, a condenser in heat exchange external contact with the tank, a refrigerant expansion device, and an evaporator disposed within the base are connected in series. A vertical duct, external to the tank, has an inlet adjacent the upper tank end, and a fan is operative to sequentially flow air inwardly through the inlet, downwardly through the duct into the base, across the compressor, across the evaporator, and then outwardly from the base.
