Abstract:
A heating device includes a housing having a flow channel, a heater disposed in the flow channel, an optical rod, a light guider and a photodetector. The optical rod has a transparent body, a first end portion, and a second end portion located inside the housing. The light guider is provided at the second end portion for guiding lights emitted by the heater toward the first end portion. The photodetector is located around the first end portion and faces the second end portion for indirectly receiving the lights emitted by the heater to the light guider through the transparent body. The temperature of the heater can be measured efficiently and timely by using the photodetector having a high responding speed, such that an overheat or damage of the heater can be prevented by controlling the heater based on the measured temperature.
Abstract:
A grounded electrical circuit in a heated hose is provided. In one embodiment, the heated hose assembly includes: a flexible hose body; a first and a second heating wires and a hose ground wire each extending longitudinally and parallel to an axis of the hose body and within an inner wall; a first fluid coupling provided on the first end portion of the flexible hose body, the first fluid coupling comprising a stem inserted into the flexible hose body and radially clamping an end of the hose ground wire against an inner surface of the inner wall, such that a contact between the first fluid coupling and the end of the hose ground wire grounds the hose ground wire; a power cord electrically connected to the first and second heating wires and to the hose ground wire; and a thermostat electrically connected to the first and second heating wires.
Abstract:
Provided are a lamp and a heating device which are capable of effectively preventing a seal portion from being overheated with a simple structure. A lamp includes: a tube portion in which a filament including a coil portion is contained; a seal portion filled with a metal foil connected to an end of the filament; and an overheat preventing portion covering a part of an outer surface of the tube portion.
Abstract:
A windshield heating system includes a vehicle that has a windshield. A heat lamp unit is provided and the heat lamp unit is selectively coupled to a support and the heat lamp unit is pointed toward the windshield of the vehicle. The heat lamp unit selectively emits electromagnetic radiation to melt frozen precipitation from the windshield. A remote control is provided and the remote control may be manipulated to turn the heat lamp unit on and off.
Abstract:
An evacuated tube boiler comprised of one or more evacuated tubes and a header, operatively connected to form a common internal volume. The internal volume further containing a first heating fluid. A conduit system conducting a second heating fluid through the header and first heating fluid. One or more artificial light sources in proximity to the evacuated tubes. In operation, the artificial light sources radiate light and/or thermal energy to the evacuated tubes whereby the first heating fluid is efficiently heated. The conduit system conducts the second heating fluid through the header and first heating fluid, whereby heat from the first heating fluid is transferred to the second heating fluid. The conduit system conducts the second heating fluid to the point of use. The apparatus may be used in a hydronic boiler heating system for heating a dwelling.
Abstract:
A fluid heating apparatus includes a housing containing a flattened tube and lamps. The apparatus further includes a first conduit flow-coupled to the flattened tube, the first conduit being adapted to provide fluid to the flattened tube. The apparatus further includes a second conduit flow-coupled to the flattened tube, the second conduit being adapted to channel fluid from the flattened tube. The lamps are arranged to irradiate the flattened tube, and the flattened tube is adapted to absorb radiation from the lamps and heat fluid contained therein.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a liquid heating unit capable of monitoring the temperature of the liquid storage tank or pipe in which liquid is heated by permeation of the radiated light, a liquid processing apparatus including the same, and a liquid processing method. The liquid heating unit includes: a lamp heater radiating light; a cylindrical member having a cylindrical shape made of material permeating the radiated light configured to insert and penetrate the lamp heater into an internal space; a liquid conduction part placed along an outer periphery of the cylindrical member and configured to heat liquid flowing therein by using the radiated light; a reflection plate covering the liquid conduction part from the outside and reflecting the radiated light; and a first temperature sensor attached to an outer surface of the reflection plate.
Abstract:
A method of producing an active chemical species, steam or superheated steam includes flowing one or more fluids through a conduit, locating one or more incandescent lights in close proximity to the conduit, and using at least a portion of the heat emitted from the one or more incandescent lights to heat the one or more fluids flowing through the conduit so that the fluid or fluids are disassociated into chemical components, associated into a new compound, or converted into steam.
Abstract:
A heating system comprises at least one IR heating device 3 and at least one optical element arranged to focus or direct IR radiation emitted by the IR heating device 3 onto an object to be heated 1.
