摘要: Wafers on a first wafer carrier in a tank are lifted from the first wafer carrier and a bath in the tank so as to accomplish Marangoni drying of the wafers. The lifted dry wafers are positioned on a second wafer carrier in a chamber and shifted to an offset position. A barrier, which can be a wall of the chamber with or without a sweeping flow of gas, impedes the passage of deposits to the wafers arising during drying of the first wafer carrier. Static electricity can be discharged from wafer supports in the offset position.

摘要: The present invention relates to a high yield apparatus for drying rigid or flexible printed circuit boards. The apparatus comprises a box-like structure which defines a drying tunnel, having an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The apparatus comprises moreover heated air circulating means for circulating heated air inside the tunnel as well as driving means for driving the printed circuit boards along the tunnel. The driving means comprise at least a pair of chains which are arranged parallel to one another and are entrained about a first pinion and a second pinion, having parallel axes, and respectively located near the inlet opening and near the outlet opening. The chains are provided with gripping means for supporting the printed circuit boards along the tunnel. The gripping means are suitable to automatically engage the printed circuit boards near the inlet opening and to automatically release the printed circuit boards near the outlet opening.

摘要: The invention permits the ends of a hollow fiber bundle to be dried, without drying the intermediate portions of the bundles, thereby enabling the bundle to be potted. The apparatus includes at least one drying member having two couplings for coupling a source of forced hot air to respective ends of a sheath designed to contain a bundle of hollow fibers. At each of its ends, the sheath includes at least one axial opening through which the hot air penetrates into the sheath, and at least one lateral opening through which the hot air leaves the sheath after passing over the ends of the fibers. The inlet air flow rate to the sheath and the dimensions of the openings are selected so that all of the air entering each of the ends of the sheath leaves via a corresponding lateral opening.

摘要: Apparatus for ultraviolet drying and/or curing of freshly applied solvent-free ink on three-dimensional articles such as containers. Baskets for carrying the articles are swivelly mounted at spaced locations on an endless conveyor. The conveyor pathway has a bend or loop when viewed in elevation, the shape of which is determined by a drum or sprocket. A tubular ultraviolet lamp is arranged, preferably in the crook of the bend or loop, parallel to the axis of curvature of the bend or loop. The baskets are of perforate construction, preferably comprising wire strips in planes which intersect along lines parallel to their respective swivel axis. The lamp irradiates a predetermined sector of each passing article in the course of displacement over the bend or loop; shadows falling on the articles due to nonperforate portions of the baskets move continuously along the predetermined sector so that no spot on the predetermined sector is constantly obstructed from the ultraviolet radiation.

摘要: A vibratory vertical lift conveyor including a vertically elongated, tubular lift assembly having an inlet at its lower end and an outlet at its upper end. The assembly is provided with generally L-shaped projections extending from end to end within the interior of the assembly to provide for material lifting action when the assembly is vibrating in a vertical direction. Additionally provided is a yieldable connection between the vibrator and the lift assembly to accommodate startup of the conveyor; a mulling sphere within the tubular assembly received therein for limited movement between the projections to mull particulate material passing upward in the assembly; a backflow preventing device at the inlet to preclude backflow of material within the inlet when the vibratory conveyor is moving downwardly; and a manifold and inlet for a treating gas for treating material as it passes upwardly within the assembly.

摘要: Apparatus for handling and drying pencil leads comprising means for receiving the leads after extrusion and cutting thereof but while the leads are still moisture laden and hence limp and easily deformable, said means maintaining the leads in straightened condition while loading the leads into cylindrical cans, the loaded cans being rotatable about their own axes to maintain the leads therein in straightened condition, the apparatus further comprising a rotary furnace for receiving the loaded cylindrical cans to effect drying of the leads, said rotary furnace comprising a rotor that slowly moves the loaded cans through an annular heating chamber, the loaded cans being mounted on discs which are rotatably mounted on the rotor, and drive means for simultaneously imparting rotation to the rotor and to the discs, the rotation of the latter being at a substantially greater rate than the rotation of the former, whereby as the rotor slowly carries the loaded cans through the heating chamber, the discs are simultaneously rotating about their own axes.
