The surface (12) of the protective attachment (10) worn against the body part is covered with a layer of adhesive (14) and protected by a peel sheet (18) to be removed for use. In addition, the protective attachment (10) of the present invention can be easily trimmed to provide a perfect fit to the user.

    摘要： A shock absorbing pad comprises a shock resistant layer 10 and a shock absorbing layer 11 which is softer or more flexible than the shock resistant layer and arranged on the inner surface of the shock resistant layer. The shock resistant layer 10 has a convex outer surface and the shock absorbing layer 11 has a concave inner surface to define a hollow space 26 faced to the human body portion in use. The hollow space 26 allows the heat of the human body to dissipate or radiate and sweat to evaporate thereinto. The air in the hollow space 26 is expelled to outside and the outside air is introduced into the hollow space 26 by the movements of the wearer.

    摘要： A catheter protector designed to be of assistance to patients using a Peripherally insterted central catheter. The catheter is inserted into a vein in the patients arm, usually at the elbow. The catheter has an attached tube which is usually pinched off. The protector can be an elastic tubular sleeve with a zipper or other attachment means at its lower end running longitudinally to a point one-half to three-quarters of the way up the bottom half of the tube. The zipper or attachment is opened, and the sleeve is slipped over the catheter. The attached tube can then be coiled up inside the sleeve and the zipper closed. The device protects the site and tube against pulling and contamination. The zipper or attachement can be opened any time to administer drugs or replace the catheter. The device can optionally contain an inner plastic layer with an optionally inner layer of gauze to further protect the insertion site. The invention can be worn 24 hours a day including wear during bathing.

    摘要： An air-holding protective foam pad construction where open cell foam is enveloped in an air-holding cavity formed by top and bottom air-holding sheets. The foam is not attached to the top and bottom air-holding sheets and the sheets are totally and continuously sealed together around a narrow common perimeter. Upon potentially destructive impact, the open cell foam first absorbs some of the impact force, and secondly the air expelled from the foam bloats the air-holding cavity. The result of the latter is a redistribution of impact forces over a larger surface area, reducing the intensity of force at the site of initial impact. The pad construction thereby has a dual action attenuation of both absorbing and redistributing the intensity of an initial localized impact force.
