Abstract:
An anti-slip mat includes three layers, a top and a bottom layer of an expanded, closed cell elastomer and a center layer of a strong, non-stretching and waterproof fabric. The mat layers are held in place, one on top of another, by a fabric binding extending around the perimeter of the map and secured by stitching.
Abstract:
As subject of the present invention, a woven composite fabric, comprising metal elements and polymer elements is provided. The metal elements being metal wires, bundles of metal wires, metal strands or metal cords. According to the invention, the polymer elements are polymer tapes, having a substantially rectangular cross-section.
Abstract:
A composite material comprising an inorganic filler material and a oriented fibrous polymeric material characterised in that the fibrous material has areas of adjacent fibres fused together to form a network or continuous matrix while retaining oriented fibrous structure in the composite.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a substantially dry, disposable personal care article containing a substantially dry, disposable, multilayered personal care article suitable for cleansing, the article contains a water insoluble substrate containing a batting layer comprising a composite material; a nonwoven layer which is disposed adjacent to said batting layer; and a cleansing component disposed adjacent to said water insoluble substrate, wherein said component contains from about 10% to about 1000%, by weight of the water insoluble substrate, of a lathering surfactant. The present invention further relates to a substantially dry, disposable multilayered personal care article suitable for conditioning wherein the above-described article comprises a therapeutic benefit component, disposed adjacent to said water insoluble substrate, wherein said component comprises from about 10% to about 1000%, by weight of the water insoluble substrate, of a therapeutic benefit component in addition to or in lieu of the cleansing component.
Abstract:
A raised surface fabric knit on a conventional terry knitting machine is provided. On one face of the fabric, a foamed liquid wicking composition is applied, and on the other face, a foamed liquid repellent composition is applied. Preferably, one or both faces of the fabric are napped prior to application of the foam. Further, it is preferable to first apply the foamed liquid repellent composition before applying the formed liquid wicking composition.
Abstract:
The present invention provides recyclable protective wraps with crease retention useful in protecting metal objects from atmospheric corrosion and moisture. The protective wraps comprise an outer barrier layer, a flexible woven substrate and an inner barrier layer. All layers are preferably of polypropylene. The outer barrier layer may further comprise ultraviolet light inhibitors. The woven substrate is preferably a tight weave. The inner barrier layer may further comprise vapor phase corrosion inhibitors. When so present, the VCIs containing inner barrier layer is identified with by the addition of a pigment of different color or shade than that of the outer barrier layer.
Abstract:
A laminate web and several uses of the laminate web are disclosed. The laminate web comprises a first web, a second web joined to the first web at a plurality of discrete bond sites; and a third material disposed between at least a portion of the first and second webs. The laminate webs of the present invention are suitable for a variety of uses. Such uses include flexible carrying implement, medical applications, kitchen or bathroom implements, decorative coverings, home accent items, pet industry articles, fabric, fabric backings, edible materials, bedding applications, absorbent food pads, clean room wipes, tack cloths, and many other uses.
Abstract:
A porous membrane is provided by biaxially stretching a film of high density polyethylene (HDPE), including particles of an incompatible material. This film has a meshed network of HDPE fibers and striations of layers coplanar with the plane of the film. This film is porous in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the film and has a void content of at least 20%. The porous membrane may have one or more nonporous backing layers. The membrane may be used as filter or battery separator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to foam composites having improved properties. These polymeric foams are prepared by polymerization of certain water-in-oil emulsions having a relatively high ratio of water phase to oil phase, commonly known in the art as high internal phase emulsions, or nullHIPEs.null The HIPE-derived foam materials used in the present invention comprise a generally hydrophobic, flexible, semi-flexible, or rigid nonionic polymeric foam structure of interconnected open-cells. These foam structures have a density of less than about 100 mg/cc, a glass transition temperature (Tg) of between about null40null and 90null C., and at least about 1% by weight compatible fibers incorporated into the foam. The foam composites have improved tensile properties compared to foams having no incorporated fibers or foams having noncompatible fibers incorporated therein.
Abstract:
There is provided a personal care product having a composite of a film layer and a coextruded foam layer. The composite is made by extruding the film and foam together. The composite may also have a liner on the side toward the wearer and may have a cover on the backing sheet to make the product more aesthetically pleasing.
