摘要: A system and method for building energy-related changes evaluation with the aid of a digital computer are provided. Obtained is a total amount of fuel purchased for a building over a set period from which an existing amount of the fuel consumed for space heating is derived. Characteristics including thermal performance and furnace and delivery efficiencies of the building for both existing and proposed equipment are obtained, including remotely controlling a heating source inside the building. The thermal performance and furnace and delivery efficiencies characteristics of the existing and proposed equipment are expressed as interrelated ratios. An amount of fuel to be consumed for space heating is evaluated as a function of the existing amount of the fuel consumed for space heating and the ratios of the existing and proposed equipment.

摘要: A coaxial power sensor assembly configured to provide a broadband matched termination utilizing coplanar waveguide topology while simultaneously providing a source of heat energy for a surface mount chip thermistor element to measure applied input power. The coaxial thermal power sensor is comprised of a thin film resistive device on a dielectric substrate and a surface mount chip thermistor element placed in close planar proximity to the resistive device in order to maximize the heat flux via a closely coupled thermal path to the thermistor and alter the bias current through the resistance to be measured. The power sensor is intended to function from DC to 70 GHz, but the same should not be construed as a limitation.

摘要: A grid sensor system for characterizing a fluid flow includes a sensor insert having a grid sensor element and a flow guide having an inlet line, an outlet line, and an insert holder arranged between the same to hold the sensor insert. A rectilinear flow path is formed by the flow guide. The insert holder is formed in such a way that the sensor insert can be inserted into the insert holder along an insertion direction extending transversely with respect to the flow path. When the sensor insert is held in the insert holder, none of the electrodes extends parallel to the insertion direction.

摘要: The overall thermal performance of a building UATotal can be empirically estimated through a short-duration controlled test. Preferably, the controlled test is performed at night during the winter. A heating source, such as a furnace, is turned off after the indoor temperature has stabilized. After an extended period, such as 12 hours, the heating source is briefly turned back on, such as for an hour, then turned off. The indoor temperature is allowed to stabilize. The energy consumed within the building during the test period is assumed to equal internal heat gains. Overall thermal performance is estimated by balancing the heat gained with the heat lost during the test period.

摘要: Disclosed is a radio frequency (RF) power calorimeter having a load electrically coupled to a RF input, a variable low-frequency power source electrically coupled to the load and configured to apply low-frequency bias to the load. The RF power calorimeter includes a thermal medium thermally coupled to the load. Additionally, the RF power calorimeter includes an outlet temperature sensor thermally coupled to the thermal medium, the outlet temperature sensor being positioned to measure the temperature of the thermal medium due to heating by the load. The RF power calorimeter also has circuitry configured to use temperature measurements of the thermal medium in thermal contact with an RF load in combination with the low-frequency bias to measure average power of an RF source electrically coupled to the RF input. Also disclosed in a method of measuring RF power using the RF power calorimeter.

摘要: A system includes a detection interface that detects signals from which house data and environmental data for at least one house can be collected. The house data includes at least power usage of the heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system of the house as a function of time. An analyzer calculates values of thermal loads of the house based on the house data and the environmental data by solving a stochastic thermal energy balance equation for the house using thermal load estimates. An output interface outputs information about the thermal loads of the house based on the calculated thermal load values.
