    摘要: A glide path transmitter for an instrument landing system. The transmitter includes several antenna radiators by way of which high frequency signals containing various low frequency modulated carrier and side band components are radiated. The components overlap each other in the far field where they form a guide signal which can be evaluated by aircraft. Phases of the carrier oscillations of the radiated high frequency signals form the guide signal having a set relationship with each other. A separate digitally controlled modulator is provided for each high frequency signal fed to an antenna radiator. The modulator modulates the phase and amplitude of a high frequency oscillation fed thereto according to a given model and inputs the modulated high frequency signal into the antenna radiator allocated thereto, thus reducing the supply network expenditure.

    摘要: The disclosure teaches a method, and an apparatus for carrying out the method, for determining the time between TO and FRO received waveforms from the time reference scanning beam (TRSB) of a microwave landing system (MLS). In accordance with the invention, the time interval between the TO and FRO received waveforms is determined by correlating the received waveforms with apriori waveforms representative of the TO and FRO waveforms respectively. The apriori waveforms are generated by having a process construct matched filters for these waveforms. A FRO received waveform is used to provide an apriori representation of a TO received waveform and vice-versa. In one embodiment of the invention, the TO and FRO waveforms which are used to construct the matched filters are time reversed.

The carrier signal is allowed to drift; it is provided with a modulated tone on the carrier having a frequency signature that identifies the direction and magnitude of this carrier frequency drift. In a second embodiment the Doppler cycles are not counted directly, but rather fixed increments of a cycle wavelength are measured; the time period of each segment is inverted to obtain a value proportional to the Doppler frequency.
