Abstract:
A radar device comprises a transmitter, a receiver, a first radar image production component, a second radar image production component, a display component, and an echo width adjuster. The transmitter transmits a pulse signal. The receiver receives an echo signal during a transmission and reception period of the pulse signal. The first radar image production component produces a radar image of a first display range on the basis of the echo signal. The second radar image production component produces a radar image of a second display range that is wider than the first display range on the basis of the echo signal. The display component selectively or simultaneously displays the radar image of the first display range and the radar image of the second display range. The echo width adjuster adjusts pulse width of echo included in the radar images or the echo signal according to the display range of the radar image.
Abstract:
A data processing apparatus that can set the magnification factor according to the distance from the antenna is provided so that the display of objects close to the antenna is easier to see and with which the changes in the settings of the magnification factor is easy. The buffer memory stores the digital signals converted by the A/D converter in association with the distance and azimuth with respect to the antenna. The digital filter filters the digital signals read from the buffer memory. A digital filter is provided that converts a value of data of interest, of digital data stored in the memory, to a value based on values of the data of interest to be processed and peripheral data in a periphery of the data of interest, and the digital filter changes a range of the peripheral data used for a filter processing according to the distance from the antenna to the data of interest.
Abstract:
Methods and computer-readable media are described herein for providing an automated validation of vehicle positioning and corresponding error notification. According to various aspects, a first position of a vehicle may be determined using a first positioning system. A second position of the vehicle may be determined using a second positioning system. An offset between the first and second positions of the vehicle may be determined. If the offset exceeds a threshold offset, a notification may be provided to indicate a potential error in the position of the vehicle.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides an information display device. The information display device includes an acquirer for acquiring positional information on one or more display targets including at least one of a landmark serving as a reference mark used when a movable body is in move, another movable body, and a location registered by an operator, and a controller for displaying positional information and circumferential information on the movable body in an information display area, associating at least one of the one or more display targets of which a position is outside the information display area with a direction to which the at least one of the one or more display targets is located centering on the movable body, and displaying the at least one of the one or more display targets in an outer circumferential area of the information display area.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for presenting vertical weather information on plan view displays. An example method retrieves weather radar return information stored in a volumetric buffer and determines if a weather anomaly of the retrieved weather radar return information is above or below a predefined threshold from a present flight altitude of an aircraft. If a weather anomaly is determined to be above the threshold from the aircraft's present flight altitude, a first image is generated in a first geometric pattern and displaying the first image on a plan view display. If the weather anomaly is determined to be below the aircraft's present flight altitude, a second image is generated in a second geometric pattern and displaying the second image on the plan view display. The first geometric pattern is different from the second geometric pattern.
Abstract:
A process provides radar scan conversion from radar amplitude data in polar coordinates to rectangular coordinates by a digital computer which receives (r,.theta.) coordinate amplitude data from a radar receiver and which supplies (x,y) coordinate amplitude which covers a rectangular-shaped display area of a monitor display. A software program generates an aggregate radial scan pattern that consists of a plurality of radials each of which have active lengths that span one or more of a plurality of selected zones of the display such that as the average azimuthal resolution associated with each zone increases, the number of generated radials match the average azimuthal resolution of the display for each zone. The display can be generated as an offset display relative to the antenna center of a display that has no offset.
Abstract:
A radar system in which the time duration of video pulses corresponding to echo returns is increased as a direct function of the range of the return. On a PPI visual indicator, the visibility of long range targets is thus enhanced by increased size without distorting the display of short range targets and clutter.
Abstract:
A method for range-Doppler imaging of rotating objects or of stationary scenes being tracked by a sensor carried by a moving vehicle includes the transmission and reception of sequential modulated signals, coherent demodulation of the received signals, recording of the demodulated signals, and a two-dimensional processing of the recorded signals to obtain a spatial image of the scene. In the disclosed inventive concept, the demodulated signals are recorded in a two-dimensional polar format wherein the angular coordinate of the signal on the recording medium is proportional to the relative angular position of the object or scene being imaged and the radial coordinate of the signal on the recording medium is proportional to the transmitted signal frequency within each transmitted pulse.
Abstract:
Radar return signals are digitized and the resultant bits entered serially into an input buffer in the form of a storage register. The bits are integrated on a bit-by-bit basis and then entered into the main memory in the form of a circulating storage register. The information stored in the main memory is subsequently recalled and conveyed through an output buffer for display on a cathode ray tube. The rate at which the bits of each word are entered into the input buffer determines the display range. In addition, the rate at which bits are entered into the input buffer may differ from the rate at which bits are displayed on the cathode ray tube.
