There is disclosed an emulsified dispersion, in which at least one compound of the formula (1) dissolved in an organic solvent comprising at least one high-boiling organic solvent satisfying the condition X.gtoreq.85 in formula (A) is emulsified in a water medium; with the proviso that phthalates and compounds having an epoxy group and having the viscosity less than 100 mPas are excluded from said high-boiling organic solvents: formula (1) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6, which are the same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 may bond together to form a 6-membered ring, formula (A) X=24.7.times.Log.sub.10 Y-11.7.times.Z+43.7 wherein Y and Z stand for, respectively, the viscosity in mPas at 25.degree. C. and the specific water content in % by weight of the high-boiling organic solvent. There is also disclosed a silver halide color light-sensitive material containing the emulsified dispersion. In the emulsified dispersion by using an ultraviolet absorbing agent, the long-term dispersion stability of the emulsion is excellent and the decomposition of the ultraviolet absorbing agent with light is prevented, without involving such a problem as defective coating. Further, in the light-sensitive material, the color fading of the dye images is obviated.

A photosensitive silver halide element comprising a support carrying photosensitive silver halide grains in a predetermined spaced array is prepared by a method which comprises at least partially coalescing fine-grain silver halide in a plurality of spaced depressions in a hydrophobic layer, superposing said layer with a hydrophilic layer during or subsequent to said coalescence, and then separating said hydrophilic layer and said hydrophobic layer whereby said coalesced silver halide grains are retained on said hydrophilic layer in a pattern corresponding substantially to the pattern of said spaced depressions.

Disclosed is an imaging method based upon the chemical intensification of a polyene image dispersed in an imagewise manner upon a substrate. The method involves contacting the film with maleic anhydride to form a reaction product between the polyene and maleic anhydride. This reaction product is then contacted with a base capable of converting the carboxylic acid anhydride group of the maleic anhyride to its corresponding salt and the so-formed salt is contacted with a solution of a dye containing a colored cation capable of replacing the cation of the salt.

A METHOD OF MAKING AN ACCURATE REPRODUCTION OF A DIE HAVING RAISED DIE ELEMENTS AND ADJACENT RECESS AREAS. THE DIE IS IMMERSED IN A PHOTOGRAPHIC DEVELOPING SOLUTION, WITH THE DIE FACE BEING DISPOSED UPWARDLY. A FULLY EXPOSED PHOTOGRAPHIC FILM IS PALCED INTO THE DEVELOPING SOLUTION AND PRESSED AGAINST THE DIE FACE SO THAT THE DEVELOPING SOLUTION IS EXCLUDED FROM THOSE AREAS OF THE FILM THAT PRESSED AGAINST THE DIE ELEMENTS. THE FILM IS THEN REMOVED FROM THE DEVELOPING SOLUTION, IMMEDIATELT RINSED IN WATERR TO REMOVE THE DEVELOPING SOLUTION, AND THEN PLACED IN A FIX SOLUTION TO PRODUCE A NEGATIVE THAT IS AN ACCURATE REPRODUCTION OF THE RAISED DIE ELEMENTS.
