    摘要: The microtips of charge emitting material, which define the cathode of the flat FED screen and face the grid of the screen, are tubular and have portions with a small radius of curvature. The microtips are obtained by forming openings in the dielectric layer separating the cathode connection layer from the grid layer, depositing a conducting material layer to cover the walls of the openings, and anisotropically etching the layer of conducting material to form inwardly-inclined surfaces with emitting tips. Subsequently, the portions of the dielectric layer surrounding the microtips are removed.

    摘要: There is provided a cold cathode fluorescent lamp including a transparent tube including first and second light-emitting areas defined by partitioning an inner space of the transparent tube, a first terminal electrode positioned in the first light-emitting area and at a longitudinal end of the first light-emitting area located closer to an end of the tube, a second terminal electrode positioned in the second light-emitting area and at a longitudinal end of the second light-emitting area located closer to the other end of the tube, a first intermediate electrode positioned in the first light-emitting area and at the other longitudinal end of the first light-emitting area, a second intermediate electrode positioned in the second light-emitting area and at the other longitudinal end of the second light-emitting area, a first lead-in wire connected to the first terminal electrode through the longitudinal end of the first light-emitting area, a second lead-in wire connected to the second terminal electrode through the longitudinal end of the second light-emitting area, a third lead-in wire connected to the first intermediate electrode through the other longitudinal end of the first light-emitting area, and a fourth lead-in wire connected to the second intermediate electrode through the other longitudinal end of the second light-emitting area. The above-mentioned cold cathode fluorescent lamp makes it possible to lower a break-down voltage and a discharge voltage down to about halves of them in a conventional fluorescent lamp, and hence, discharged electrons are not attracted to a metal part. Thus, it is possible to prevent a cold cathode fluorescent lamp from not turning on due to electron discharge.

    摘要: A plasma flat-panel display has a glass substrate having a first pair of parallel sustainer electrodes deposited thereon that includes a first sustainer electrode and a second sustainer electrode. A second pair of parallel sustainer electrodes also is deposited upon the substrate that also includes a first sustainer electrode and a second sustainer electrode. A single common electrode pad is electrically connected to the first sustainer electrode in the first sustainer electrode pair and the first sustainer electrode in the second sustainer electrode pair. The electrode pad is adapted to be connected to a first sustainer voltage waveform supply so that a single supply provides a voltage waveform to both of the first sustainer electrodes.
