    摘要: The invention provides arrangements to facilitate surface mounting of subassembly boards on a motherboard with reliable, high conductivity interconnection. In accordance with the invention, the subassembly interconnection arrangement is composed of separate power and sense connector arms formed on one or more base headers. The arrangement interconnects and supports the subassembly board on the motherboard surface. Each power arm advantageously comprises a plurality of split-based mounting lugs secured to the arm in a coplanar configuration. Each sense connector arm preferably comprises a plurality of connector pins secured to the arm in a coplanar configuration. Embodiments are disclosed for vertical and horizontal surface mounting.

    摘要: An electrical lead has a first set of terminals (14) at one end of the lead and a second set of terminals (15) at the other end of the lead. A connector circuit (11,12) respectively connects the terminals (14) to the terminals (15). This circuit (11,12) is adjustable so as to change the connection paths between the first and second sets of terminals (14,15). The connector circuit (11,12) is surrounded by a security enclosure which comprises flexible sheet means of electrically insulating material carrying an array of lines of electrically security conductors. Monitoring means are connected to the security conductors to detect a change in an electrical characteristic thereof resulting from damage to the security enclosure. The invention can be used in a financial terminal, and provides security against a fraudulent attack on the lead intended to gain access to confidential information, such as a personal identification number, transmitted over the lead.

The contact terminals are provided to electrically connect a mother board to a daughter board. A board-receiving opening is provided in the housing for reception of the daughter board therein. A pair of latch members are provided on the housing for latching the daughter board to take a predetermined posture with respect to the mother board. A pair of restricting metal plates are mounted on the housing for restricting the latch members from being flexed in a direction to move the paired latch members away from each other. A spring is provided in the board-receiving opening for enabling a spring force to be applied to the daughter board in a direction to urge the daughter board into the predetermined posture against a push force by the daughter board received in the board-receiving opening.

    摘要: An electrical connector (2) has a dielectric housing with contact terminals (22) which extend therethrough. The contact terminals (22) are provided to electrically connect a mother board (4) to a daughter card (6). A board-receiving opening (20) is provided in the housing for reception of the daughter card (6) therein. Proximate to the board-receiving opening (20) are latch receiving openings (24) which are dimensioned to receive insertable latch members (40) therein. The latch members (40) are manufactured from material having the desired resilient and strength characteristics, thereby insuring that the latch members (40) will be effective over many cycles. Each latch member (40) has a resilient section (42) for cooperating with the daughter card (6) and a mounting section (44) for cooperating with the mother board (4). The resilient section (42) is able to accommodate a range of board sizes without taking a permanent set. If required the latch members (40) can have enhanced electrical characteristics so that the power and ground connections between the mother board (4) and the daughter card (6) can be made through the latch members (40).
