摘要： A DC to DC converter for producing a constant voltage DC output signal which includes an unbalanced square-loop magnetic core inverter, a single silicon controlled rectifier for initiating a single complete cycle of said inverter upon the receipt of an input pulse signal, and a constant frequency pulse oscillator coupled to a control input of the silicon controlled output signal, which is subsequently half-wave rectified and filtered, each cycle of which having a constant average voltage amplitude. The frequency of the pulse oscillator is lower than the freerunning frequency of the inverter, thereby producing an output pulse train having a constant average amplitude regardless of input voltage.

UNDER A CLAMPED CONDITION, USUALLY AT NO LOAD, THE FREQUENCY REQUIRED TO GIVE THIS LEVEL IS THE LOWER OPERATING FREQUENCY LIMIT. A COMPARISON CIRCUIT CONTINUOUSLY COMPARES THE DC OUTPUT VOLTAGE WITH A PREDETERMINED LEVEL SET BY REFERENCE SETTING CIRCUIT. SHOULD THE DC OUTPUT VOLTAGE START TO FALL BELOW THE PREDETERMINED LEVEL, A VOLTAGE SIGNAL IS PRODUCED BY THE COMPARISON CIRCUIT. THIS VOLTAGE SIGNAL IS DIRECTED TO THE OSCILLATOR CONTROL CIRCUIT TO UNCLAMP THE OSCILLATOR TO OSCILLATE AT A FREQUENCY NECESSARY TO RESTOR THE OUPUT VOLTAGE TO THE PREDETERMINED VOLTAGE LEVEL.

摘要： Control of the gate electrode of a magnetic-beam-triode oscillator is effected by a diode connected between the gate and a controllable shunt regulator. The regulator is varied by a voltage derived from a differential amplifier forming part of a closed loop feedback circuit including the oscillator. By introducing an additional differential amplifier, variation of the regulator may also be made to depend on one of several parameters of the oscillator and load circuit, for example on the r.f. tank circuit voltage.

摘要： The efficiency of a high-frequency power source is maximized by proper selection of the power oscillator tube filament bypass capacitor. By selecting the proper value for this bypass capacitor, reactive components of the oscillator tube plate current are eliminated and the oscillator tube plate dissipation is minimized. The value of this capacitor can be varied over a fairly wide range without producing any significant percentage change in the frequency at which the power source operates.
